I've been taking Propecia every day for over 20 years now.

Male pattern baldness is rampant on my maternal side. I have 5 Uncles and they're all mostly bald. Many of them started going bald in college.

My older brother (RIP) started losing his hair at age 19. He was almost completely bald at 21. It really hurt his self image. He wore a hat almost constantly to hide it.

When I was a sophomore in college, my hair started falling out in clumps in the shower. I started to panic.

I'm an auburn ginger. I'd look like a Q-tip if I was bald. I am very pale even though I'm 1% black according to my DNA test. I'm English, Irish and Scottish heritage so you can imagine my hue.

I went to a hair loss specialist around 2002 and he told me about Propecia. I was also active on some men's hair loss forums looking for advice. They said the key is to take Propecia while you still have hair because it stops hair from falling out.

I started taking Propecia shortly afterwards. The doctor said it would take about 6 months to work.

After about 4 months, I noticed my hair stopped falling out in the shower. I was amazed! It's like a miracle drug. I also had no side effects and was informed about them.

My hair is like 99% full and I'll probably take Propecia for life. I'd be completely bald without it.

It ranges from $35 to $85 a month. I've probably spent at least $10K on it.

Anyone else take Propecia?

Nope. I was like your late brother and started balding really early, 19 or 20, and it definitely hurt my confidence. Luckily I met my future wife a few years later and it didn’t bother her at all. Started shaving my head a few years after that and never looked back. It also helps that I’m really handsome and hung like a horse(fly)

Get your physician to prescribe generic fiasteride 5mg. It can be broken into 4ths. Not the exact equivalent dose, but close enough. Unless prices have changed, this should save you money.

Thanks.

What type of physician are you?

No wonder you're mackin the catholic babes on the dating sites. I take biotin and boron and make sure I have enough copper and zinc in my diet. Too much selenium can lead to hair loss. My condolences to you on your brother.

That's a nice gig.

I went to a dermatologist for dry skin and he charged like $450 for a 15 minute visit.
I honestly have no idea what I charged. It was all just a game with insurance companies, Medicare, and providers. I left that part to my office manager. The bills were paid, my staff was take care of, and my family was provided for. I concentrated on the fun part, taking care of patients.

Yes. I take it. The wife asked me to.

Propecia is the drug that makes your schlong shrink from 12 inches to 10 right?
Propecia, Proscar, and Finasteride are all the same drug. It blocks the formation of dihydro-testosterone which results in hair loss and an enlarged prostate. One of the side effects is erectile dysfunction. Tends to be worse in men with an enlarged prostate versus men taking for hair loss. The dose for prostate problems is higher and the men tend to be older so more likely to have ED. It's called post finasteride syndrome.

I use finasteride and do this. At Sam's Club, 23 5mg tablets are like $4, so that is like 3 months of use for $4. My doc accidentally wrote the persecution for 1mg tablets, and 30 were around $80-90.
