Does Iowa Have a Sharp Young Special Teams Coach Like ND?

I would rather have an average ST coach and eleven players with ND ability.

Wouldn't care if Iowa had a coach that was a 500 pound Asian Female as long as she could coach. I don't see why you emphasize race.
Lets see. Iowa is 97% white.

Iowa has a small population.

Iowa must recruit out of state.

The majority of the NFL are black players.

Not many 500 pound Asian Females play WR.

Still standing by my 2025 prediction…

KF gets the record for wins.
KF retires at the end of the season.
Alabama goes 8-5 next season.
Alabama fires Kalen Deboer.
Iowa hires Kalen Deboer as HC.
I agree with 1, 2 and 4.

Deboer had a player refuse to come off the field in the Vandy game...

No F'ing way that happens under Saban. Huge ???? about Deboer after this season...

So dumb. ST is Iowa's best coached group.
The OP is being sarcastic. He knows Iowa DOES have what ND has, but implies--and I agree--that KF, as with the offense--won't let him do anything. As long as KF continues to squash the life out of Iowa's offense and special teams, nothing else matters much. Notre Dame was playing to win. They were aggressive and creative on both sides of the ball and on special teams. It paid off in a big win over another overrated SEC opponent. That's what we want to see at Iowa.

Great coaching job by ND. I wish Iowa had a sharp young black coach who is good at special teams. Hmmmm?
Are you serious, Clark?
Lavar Woods is highly regarded nationally as a special teams coach.
If you think this is an area of concern for UIowa football, you need to reassess your priorities.
Lavar has been prominently mentioned as a candidate for HC if and when Kirk leaves.

Yes, but we named a lesser deserving non minority assistant, associate head coach, and pay him more than our sharp young minority coach. We are fortunate to have kept him as this caused him to navigate the NFL waters.
Lolololol.. Really? You mean the guy who has turned out multiple guys at LB who have been all B1G, All Americans, Consensus All Americans, Unanimous All Americans, A Butkas winner, another who should have been, Several guys who have led the nation in tackles, Multiple NFL draft picks, (including a first rounder) all in his position group? You mean that guy? So only minority coaches are worthy of promotion, or pay raise, is that your statement?

I'm pretty sure the OP is aware of all of this and was being sarcastic, like why does coach Woods not get more run...

Martin Luther king said it perfectly. Judge people by their deeds not the color of their skin. The woke have Martin words upside down.

I’m surprised we got away from some gadget plays with special teams. Could of used a few this year to maybe get an extra win in some cases.

So, what you are saying is that young black football players are racist and only respond to men of dark skin tone.
Watching Ohio State play shows how far Iowa is behind Ohio State in talent. I am not expecting to match their talent but how about giving Iowa a chance to win. I was at Kinnick in 2017 vs OSU and it was fricking fantastic.

Recruiting is key and Iowa needs to do better than #44 every year. Iowa will get the kids from Iowa who grew up cheering for Iowa but the problem is there is not many of those kids. In addition, the state of Iowa does not produce a ton of WR's, DB's, RB's.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Jared DeVries, Dallas Clark, Jack Campbell's of the world but we need more than that.

Iowa needs every advantage possible to get talented out of state kids. Hayden could relate to those kids since he integrated the Southwest Conference while at SMU.

That say in Kinnick was fun… but I was smart enough to see Iowa had a really good day and tIAY had a really bad one. Shit happens, even to very good teams. And once things start rolling, sometimes they can’t be stopped…ask KC about that.

To be fair, Ohio state is making a lot of teams look far behind them in talent besides Iowa.

Watching them dominate Oregon like that was incredible.
