Does Iowa have the line of scrimmage or not in '15

When Kirk Ferentz arrived at Iowa, the production in the line of scrimmage was poor. We all recall the 1999 game vs. Wisconsin or the Big Ten opener at Michigan State, back when Coach Saban was head coach.

The 2009 game at Ohio State was a signal of Iowa's problems. The run defense wasn't getting it done. It was a miracle Iowa got it to OT that day, the way Iowa’s run defense resembled swiss cheese, at times?

The 2013 game in Columbus may have been the best loss over the past five years. Iowa executed very well for three quarters mostly, but ran out of gas in the 34-24 loss. Depth is another issue at Iowa. Attrition more than recruiting anyone?

Will the 2016 class be signed in February or will the wheels come off in 2015, like in 1998?

Iowa in 1998, Fry's final season had plenty of issues on both sides of the ball. The final game vs. Minnesota resembled last year's game, without the double digits.

In 2014, Iowa State took over 4:18 left tiwd 17-17, and the Cyclones went on an 11 play, 51 yard drive nailing a 42 yard FG for the game winner. The week before Iowa State should of, could of beat Kansas State in Ames.

Iowa needs the defensive and offensive lines to step up. Production has dropped, despite the individual high draft picks and awards.

The last four years, the Cy-Hawk Trophy has been decided by 6 points or less. Iowa blew out ISU in both 2009 and 2010. The key to success comes in the trenches.

Further, Iowa needs to find a way to generate turnovers. Ironically, Iowa was a +12 during the 4-8 season in '12. Iowa has been in the negative the past two seasons.

How good can DT Jaleel Johnson be in 2015?

How much of a sophomore upthick can DT Nathan Bazata have?

Does Iowa get any service out of Darian Cooper at DT coming off knee injury.

Kyle Terlouw and Faith Ekaktie are juniors in reserve.

Iowa has a lot to prove themselves in 2015.

Are the DEs primed for a solid season?

More experience in back 7 shouldn't hurt Iowa in 2015?
