With the returnees on the roster, can the Hawkeyes get by if a big is not signed in this class?

Going to need one with some experience after Garza graduates. The only true 5 would be Nunge, and he will be a senior the year after Garza graduates. Better to work them in as freshmen and play under less pressure than have them have to the only one if Nunge goes down. So I would say yes, the 2020 class needs at least one big.

Yes and hopefully it's a good one. The Murray twins have grown a little on me these past 24hrs but there is way too much risk in this class right now. We already know what can happen if you completely whiff on a class with this many scholorships.

The more I read about the twins the more I think these two could be quality B1G players after a year or two under their belts. Both could be 6'8 225 by then with plus mid range and long range games for the 3, 4 positions. If Iowa had a quality 5 from this class they could really help stretch the floor for the guards. It sounds like after they both grew a couple inches they had a big showing at a tournament that got the attention of a lot of basketball coaches. Guys who can play the 3 and 4 positions and handle the rock and shoot are a hot commodity in hoops. I will be very curious how these guys play this season and adjust to their growth. But yes we need a quality big in this class.

Yes, but I'm not sure it will need to be a traditional 5.
If Fran is moving even further into positionless BB an athlete like Foster could be strong enough to play the 5 position in that kind of game.
It also would keep 5 long athletes that can shoot the rock, defend and run on the court at the same time.

Either yes, or they will both need a couple next year and need to be looking at a grad transfer following Garza and Pemsl’s graduations

Yes. A Foster and Ogundele package would be great, assuming scholarships open up (especially JBo playing this year and Till being a one-year scholarship). Iowa needs at least one quality big in this class.

Fran doesn’t need a big in the early signing period. Serviceable bigs are available every spring either via juco or transfer.

No need to reach right now.
