Is it just me or has Uhl perhaps turned the corner and the light has turned on. and I know its crazy but Uhl at Point. I know it can't or won't and shouldn't happen, but against Ohio State he almost looked like a point guard out there.

I have resigned myself to accept that best case for Uhl is to come in and give energy and effort defensively and on the glass. He is a good north-south dribbler, but is a turnover waiting to happen when he drives and can't finish. If you watch him in the pre-game shoot around, he will make 2, then air ball / barely graze the rim on the next few. He is a bit like Devon Archie in that he is a gifted athlete, but can't parlay that athleticism into results on the court.
He has shown much better energy the past two games and seems more engaged. Defend, rebound, and give maximum effort and he will impact games through hustle. Any points he scores are a bonus.
I think his natural position is on the perimeter.
He handles the ball really well in the open court and is very fast.
I could see him breaking out his senior year. Or I could see him being basically the same.
Hes a hard one to figure out.
Uhl has better handles than Williams. Where he gets into trouble is he holds onto the ball too long rather than moving it on. Also, he isn't very good at driving to the hoop. Overall he is a good roleplayerAnd Dom, please STOP BRINGING THE BALL UP THE COURT!!! I cringe every time. Don't we have guards?
I agree his ball handling skills for a 6'9" kid is really good...I have no problem with him bringing the ball up (and then normally finding Bohannon or whomever)...and you are right he can is quick.
Dom UHL IMO has not even come close to how good he can be...he has the ability to create and drive..his problem with it is he is shy with it (doesn't have the confidence & seems to drive with the thought of not trying to make a mistake)...sometimes he even stops & looks for a bailout. He also struggles with contact when penetrating..gets knocked off balance..
I truly believe we may not see the best of Dom Uhl in an Iowa uniform but somewhere overseas.
Dom is fine. Not a star, but always gives big effort. He is a good one to have on the team.
This is likely correct. Started playing basketball late, and it shows in how he reacts to being bodied while handling the ball and in some decisions.
Just because a guy doesn't score a ton doesn't mean he isn't valuable. The last number of games he has been giving good effort on defense, which is a valuable thing for this team. He can legitimately guard the 3-5 positions
