By “go further back to grandparents” are you suggesting that they would retroactively revoke birthright citizenship for babies born to mothers who were themselves the beneficiary of jus soli after being born to a mother who was here illegally?

Because I would not support retroactively revoking birthright citizenship that has already been granted and I don’t interpret Agenda 47 to suggest doing that either. It says “going forward” birthright citizenship will no longer be automatically granted.

Would you be okay with setting a clear line of demarcation and saying that from this point forward it will no longer be automatically granted to babies born to mothers who are here illegally, so long as everyone who already has it gets to keep it?

I’d be okay with ending jus soli for people whose mother was in the US illegally at the time of their birth.
Birth tourism is a thriving industry on the West Coast going back decades. It’s popular among well to do Chinese women who come here pregnant and stay with well paid host families and overstay their visas purposely until they give birth.

Finally. Maybe our immigration system will stop being abused. And Democrats will no longer be able to help foreigners abuse it in order to seek a political advantage.

All Democrats who participated in the import foreigners for future voters scheme are traitors to the USA in my eyes. We need to make their crimes retroactive and hold them accountable. Long prison sentences and severe fines.

Sanctuary cities do not hold them accountable for their crimes. They cannot be viewed as subjects.

I don’t get why they never expanded on the constitution to allow for more illegal activity.
They should make an amendment where if you steal from someone but give it away to your child, it is legally theirs.
Another could be that you can murder someone who isn’t legal in our country as long as you have a child before someone finds out you did it.
Point is, I have never understood why someone who is here illegally is allowed to have a child and then that child is allowed to reap the benefit of them being here illegally and giving birth.

Sadly Aardvark this issue hasn’t been run by the current brain trust sitting on the Court. These guys have shown themselves willing to say anything and all to eager to revise what the Constitution and its “precedent” has said. In short… these guys and gals are actively engaged in legitimizing “moving goal posts.”

Let’s see… Repubbers just won control of the WH, the Senate, probably the House and a majority of state houses…. Yet you talk about how the Dems are consolidating their political power nationally? Trump actively tried to overthrow the orderly transfer of power (an act of treason) but the Dems are the bad guys here?

Either does the idea or logic (current day) of the electoral college… but it is in the Constitution. If you don’t like it stick, change the damn Constitution ( but that takes time and is not expedient).

I don’t disagree, but we’re talking about undermining the 14th Amendment by EO. King Trump has this idea he has supreme authority to issue whatever edict he wants and everyone is just supposed to fall in line.
