Wowowowowow. Meyer wore him down and was stronger. Joseph gassed and so did Hall.
Hall was scared to death! Hell of a job by Meyer!
Think he was a little to tentative. He is best on his feet and has to let it fly more. Credit to Meyer though, I honestly did not think that would be close

Man, I didn't see any of that coming, pulling the shirt, I said no,,, and then I was like crap as I thought he would beat Meyer...I don't know that they could have pulled it at a harder time. That is a super hard first match. Just do not think they did what was best for Hall.. altogether though, I am fine with it

Hall needed another year to grow into 174. Glad Cael burned the shirt, one less year of a developed hall. Nice win Meyer!!!
Your golden boy just got beat by Meyer.....I know that is hurting you all a lot more then Brooks going down is hurting us.
We have lots of golden boys (I know you're jealous). Meyer brought it. He deserves props. Sorenson brought it too. It's too bad Stoll is out. I was hoping it would be PSU vs Iowa not PSU vs pokies in March.
I seem to remember some guy named Lincoln being beaten 1st match out and he turned out alright. I wouldn't judge this decision based on tonight.. I think PSU is the team to beat with Hall in there.....but damn, I hope I'm wrong come March!

I honestly have no problem with Hall. He seems to be humble, polite, well spoken etc. The hahahaha was more directed at Carl for pulling his shirt. Really a stupid move. You could tell right away that Hall wasn't where he needed to be mentally in that match.
Why is it stupid? PSU will get no points at 133, maybe a few at 197, maybe a few at 141. Now instead of "maybe a few" at 174 it's "probably a lot". "Carl" just put PSU in the drivers seat this year, and next year is a near guarantee. Very smart move, and Hall will be fine.
I get ya. Hall was thrown into the Carver fire tonight but he will be top 4 in March. This should do wonders for Meyers confidence though.

Not really. I think we all know which of those two results is most likely to be reversed in the future.
Hall isn't big enough for 174. He just isn't. He will get worn down at Nationals after three days and I doubt he can win with technique alone.

Meyer earned it for sure. Hall will be just fine.
Of the PSU wrestlers, I don't know what to make of Joseph. He was all-world for the first 3 minutes and then nothing. I haven't seen enough of him to have a view, but based on the first 3 minutes I would say he could beat anyone other than Imar. Based on the last 4 minutes, I would think he's not making a deep run in March.
What about the guys cutting a lot? They get worn down, too.
Hall will be fine. PSU is now more likely to win the team title. How can you fault them for that?

Cael can and has made mistakes.
What does that mean. I didn't dispute whether his calbiber should wrestle. It's the timing, venue and situation. Do it an earlier dual or the next dual as his first start.
Hall will be up and running come nationals. Terrific technique but tonight just didnt have enough gas or strength for meyer. Was great to see meyer get a win but wouldnt bet on him duplicating that success later in the season. Hall will need to rely on technique and improve his gas tank to compensate for wrestling stronger kids. I think Penn state would win it all even without Hall so think taking the shirt off was silly. Soriano looks the part however!
Don't understand how losing a guy that might get 3 (or zero) points at NCAAs is replaced by a guy that might get 14+ points makes this decision
