The fact BMC was telling other schools to not talk to him until the team was done and that he was so transparent with Hardin speaks pretty high volumes about him.
Drake sure knows how to hire MBB coaches. The last 3 have recently been hired by 3 B1G schools (Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa). Hopefully Iowa got the best of the 3.
It feels like he really did want Iowa all along.. Wondering if IU finally accepted this and settled in DD?
Idk how it will work out as far as W/L’s, but from the supposed top 2 candidates we had, we got the classier of the 2 imo. Hopefully the better coach as well!
Sounds to me like BMC, BG and Drake AD are all class.
I think Iowa truly is a “dream” job like it would be for so many of us if we were offered. But I think he struggled with the perception of bouncing from a job after one year because he really planned to build something there.
I really think it was only going to be Iowa or Drake. I don’t think he would have seriously considered WVU or Nova.

IU wanted to speak to him in St. Louis during the Valley tournament. He wouldn’t and was told he wouldn’t get the job if he didn’t. He said he didn’t care.

Good things about Beth and Ben in this clip. Respecting the current job at Drake and letting that play out. It's more than can be said for many coaches AND players.
