Drake Stoops to Oklahoma

Would have been a cool story but I still feel he was a reach as a scholarship offer. Glad it worked out for both sides!

(I agree herky) if you feel he was a stretch what about the kid from ct?

Given a choice of the two Nico wins hands down. 5' 10" 170lb vs 6' 190lb with a year of prep experience. I would have loved to have Stoops as a walk on. I think Nico is a "stretch" for a blue blood program but not for Iowa. (I know I'll get roasted for that comment from all those who think we should be recruiting at the same level as AL, tOSU, MI)

When Stoops transfers in two years it will be to Iowa.
If this happens in two years he will have to walk on. I won’t blame him for staying where he grew up to bad his ancestral allegiances and loyalties wasn’t stronger than where he grew up.

If a guy doesn't have an offer from Bama he's not worth recruiting.

hell Nico didn't even have offers from Junior College programs like Nebraska.

Isaac is his other son and he doesn't have much for offers. Anychawk there is a far cry from an Alabama offer and the offer list Nico had. I hope he has a long and great career. I just don't see him as someone who is going to advance the level of or WR core.

Getting Stoops would have been fine, but Ragaini is better in my opinion. Drake obviously doesn't have the Hawkeye inclination other legacies have. the things Ragaini has said indicate that he is hungry to be good and willing to work hard to get better everyday. Another hard nosed kid ready to work, and he has some decent athleticism. I'll take it.

How much better wil Drake get is always a question too he has probably been working out at the College level for four years already. A little like James Morris

Dad is disappointed that he will not be spending his fall saturdays for the next four years in Iowa City the way he planned.

Was the part of his retirement he was looking forward to the most.

He'll walk on, slide right into the Riley McCarron/Nick Easley slot, and earn a scholarship. That's been the trend lately, anyway.
