Drew's sister is at the Houston Iowa game watches. His parents come now and then as does his brother. We went to a couple of his games in Calgary in the summers of 2015 and 2016. Was fun going to FB games in July. Have sat around and drank beer with Drew when he was home one time. He and his girlfriend came to an Iowa alumni event in Houston one time.

I just watched highlights from the Cap One Bowl against LSU. Just can't get enough of the final play where Drew hits Holloway with the game winner as time runs out. Great stuff and great memories.

Fondest memory of Drew Tate (aside from Capital One Bowl).

It was both our sophomore years and we both were housed in Hillcrest. The first snowfall of the year was a good amount and pretty much every resident living in Hillcrest came outside and started an impromptu snowball fight with one another.

Out comes Drew Tate in gym shorts and no shirt. He is sprinting around the grounds full speed loving life because he had never experienced snow before. He then commences on packing a bunch of snowballs and pegging a bunch of kids with pinpoint accuracy.

I remember some of the students actually being proud of the fact that they got creamed in the head by a Drew Tate fast ball. Good times

After the 2004 game vs Wisconsin when Iowa won the B1G championship, our group went to across the street to a house party. A couple people with us were from Clinton and tailgated with Tate's parents (mom and step dad I believe).

Drew eventually showed up to the tailgate with his girlfriend. Drew was wearing shorts and a T-shirt and it couldn't have been above 35 degrees that night. I remember that game being really cold. Tate was very quiet, kind of shy, and real down to Earth for just winning the B1G. Pretty much the exact opposite of how you saw him on the field.

I'm glad that Tate's had a good career. He'll always be one of my favorite Hawkeyes to watch all time.

They are pretty good folks. I saw his mother at a wedding this summer. A few years ago while Drew was home he met some of us at a BWW in Houston. The Houston Club Leader had made up a scrapbook she wanted to give him. I talked to him and said I might come to a game. He was impressed I would actually spend money to go up there. We went in 2015 and saw him right after the game. We combined it with a day in the Canadian Rockies. We went back in the summer of 2016(WestJet had cheap prices and the Canadian dollar is weak). We were going to try and get together with he and his girlfriend but it didn't work out. Thought about going this summer to a game in Toronto. My wife isn't much into football but Toronto she was interested. If he plays next year will probably go. A good football fix in July.

In the Houston Iowa Club his sister is one of the board members.
