Buddy of mine and I are driving down for the Whining Illini game. We were going to stay in Dubuque, but have decided to stay in Iowa City that night. Give me an idea of a place with a great breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. Don't disappoint the aging HawkinMN.

I should have specified we may be doing this on the way down for lunch, so perhaps closer to the Dubuque area.

Not on the way from DBQ, but Jon's in Tiffin is my favorite in the IC area, followed by Shakespeare's. I'm guessing you will get a lot of people suggesting Jonsey's, but I only gave them 2 chances as there was so much gristle it was unenjoyable each time.

I'd also suggest stopping at Short's Shines on Clinton next to the Airliner for one of the best burgers and fries you will find in Iowa. It's owned by Nate Keading. There will be a wait but it's well worth it

Augusta. Or wait until game day and get one at the stand on the corner of Melrose and Melrose Pl. Five bucks and it's ridiculously good...thick, juicy, flavorful.

Have never done a tenderloin on gameday. Is there a specific vendor? Is there only one in that location?

Bingo. Shakespeare's is another good call.

And LOL at the Bo James suggestion. That place has been putting out hot garbage for far too long.

We talking about a tenderloin or HawkinMN's man bits?

I will save my man bits for Wendy. It'll be fabulous.

Where, specifically, in Minnesota do you live where you drive through Dubuque?

I'm in south metro, so out of the way, but will drive down 35 and cut over to Rochester, then down 52 to Dubuque, then 151 over towards IC.
