Easton Fleshman season preview

His district/section should open up a bit with the graduation of state runner up Dylan Winkel from CL-G/LR. Winkel was 7-0 against Fleshman last year. I don’t know if it was being out manned or style differences but it has been said that when he wrestled Winkel, Fleshman would “try to get a lead and then stall his ass off.” That obviously was unsuccessful and will need to change at the next level.

That was at 220...he will be HWY this year. He had trouble with the smaller quicker dudes at 220, the kind that could probably go at 195 but don't feel like cutting. Those are the matchup problems for him. He has been a natural hwy since his sophomore year but cut to 220 for the team because they had a decent Hwy.

Breaking my self-imposed exile to just note that we’re talking about Chief’s nephew here. Maybe this is already common knowledge, and if so, sorry for the superfluous info. I’m a little out of the loop around here.

Congrats to Easton — great accomplishment to be a Hawkeye — and congrats to proud Uncle Chief. Very cool to see, and I’m happy for him and the whole family.
