My Aunt Doris' kick-ass egg nog recipe:

Get four half-gallon resealable jugs of egg nog. Pour one into a different container and reserve for kids and other non-drinkers.

Combine the remaining 1-1/2 gallons of nog with one 750 ml bottle (a fifth) of bourbon whiskey, a fifth of dark rum, and a pint of brandy. The resulting mix will fill your four containers with a couple of ounces leftover for a taste test.

Seal tightly and refrigerate.

Serve in a festive glass with a pinch of nutmeg sprinkled on top.

You can drink this right away, but the flavor improves if you let it sit and ferment for a few days up to a week.

Knock a couple of these back and you can't help but have a happy holiday.

Oh, and the store brand of nog is fine for this recipe.

Not bad. I guess I could make two batches in case we have guests...
