Man is he playing well. He is reminding me a little of Stockton will his passing, seems to be really finding the open guy. And his shooting has been lights out.

Just wanna apologize again BE, you are proving that you definitely belong. Keep up the great work.

He is playing terrific. I was also really down on him, particularly at the end of last season when Williams started to take most of his minutes. Really been fun to watch this year, literally never tries to do too much and you have to guard him otherwise he is lethal. Also really impressed with his passing.

Brady is a lights out 3 point shooter at crunch time.
He is also a valuable assist man with his passes.
His defense is improving and so are his minutes per
game. Congrats to Brady, he is the main reason we
beat Nebraska today. He had 11 points and 5 assists.

He is playing great basketball. Solid with the ball, under control and playing within himself. Seems the game has really slowed down for him.

yep that is what happens when a shooter gets a little older...the BE you see is the BE Fran saw 3 years ago...he will have games that are not as affective as the last couple (that's basketball) ...but he certainly shouldn't have to worry about transferring...like some on here had suggested...feel the sting. :D

the only thing he is proving is u were wrong but good for u...obviously the Stockton part is just a little funny thing.

Surely you're joking.

Ellingson has played well in several games.
John Stockton is the NBA all time assist leader, by a lot.

Brady, while being a much improved player, does not possess anything comparable to the skills of Stockton.

Well let's just go right to the Jerry West comparisons. Actually, Ellingson's shot form really is perfect.

I had two different people, both of whom know BBall, including a former HS coach, tell me that Ellingson was the best shooter they'd ever seen as a HS player when we recruited him. While that is a mouthful Ellingson is headed for the pretty much the best shooting season in Iowa history. Kyle McC hit 52% of his threes one season and Ellingson is at 54.5%.

Ellingson does two things to the defense. He can never be left open-eliminating a double team somewhere else. He can never be fouled when Iowa is nursing a lead basically taking one defender away from the ball in late games. That's a valuable weapon to have on the floor.

Kent?

I've been rooting like heck for this kid ever since last year when he roasted on this board. Not because I thought he was so good either, but it makes me sick to see fans give up on a kid halfway through his freshman year.

This guy could be Matt Gatens the next 2 years.

All black guy basketball players' games remind me of other black guy players' games.

All white guy basketball players' games remind me of other white guy players' games.

It's ok to cross over comparisons people!

Thanks for being patient, Brady. Fran's playing 11 guys because 11 kids deserve to see time. I like this team, but now a couple of tough ones coming up.

Brady is a great team player. Has developed very well in his time at Iowa. He's gonna have a great career at Iowa. And to think last year he was everyone's favorite candidate to transfer.

Too bad you feel the need to bad mouth our kids in the first place!

Player of the game. His shooting has been nothing less than phenomenal the last 4 games or so. NEVER takes a bad shot. Has hit several KEY shots. And I believe he has something like 16 assists to ZERO turnovers in the last three or four games. Solid defense, great hustle. The kid deserves all the credit in the world.

No need to compare him to anyone. He's doing one helluva job just being himself. Kudos to him and Fran for staying patient.

You guys might wanna put your reading glasses on. Nowhere did i said he was equal to Stockton. I said there might be a glimpses of BE game that could be compared to Stocktons. Just my opinion.

The obvious difference is that Stockton is a PG who played a ton of pick and roll, while Ellingson is a shooting guard who does not dribble to initiate his offense. Hornacek would be a better comparison than Stockton, if you want to look back at those Utah Jazz teams.

Never fear, next game if he misses his first shot posters will be screaming for him to be benched. Did OK today though.

No one said you said equal to ... glad you see there are glimpses.

I'd say more of a Bobby Hansen type. Not as tall, not as well rounded a college scorer as Bobby became...but definitely an asset other than solely scoring.

BE is becoming the consistent second guard this team has been looking for, especially with ball handling - JoBo has badly needed a guard who can share some of that while he's on the floor. He will never be a point really, but his ball handling and good decision making is what's getting him time over Moss recently. With that extra time, his shot has come around...the very reason why he was brought in.

Let's hope for both ours and his sake it continues. Iowa needs all the solid ballplayers they can get.

aaaahhh he needs quite a bit more crunch time shooting to be a considered crunch time shooter.

A couple of fun stats on Brady. He's not only hit all 18 ft's this year he's had 18 assists since his last turnover.
