Someone remind me the exact details of the Eno mess. For whatever reason I cant remember the exact details on why he decommitted if I remember right didn't ferentz pull the scholarship offer?

Here are the highlights.

Eno verbally committed. The staff asks all recruits NOT to verbally commit until the target is done with recruiting, so the staff can also stop recruiting for that spot. Eno committed.

Then he decided he wanted to take another visit, which he did, without telling the coaching staff. A "no no" on KF's staff.

In the end, the staff pulled the offer or he decommitted - not sure which came first.

He also allegedly stole a sweatshirt while on his visit to Iowa. The staff pulled his offer after the secretive visits to Mizzou and ASU and alleged theft. He has a different version that basically says that he didn't know that he couldn't take other visits after committing. White and Kennedy were his recruiters and they were fired at the end of the season, so there is probably some truth to his version. He also posted a pic of himself in the alleged stolen sweatshirt that isn't for sale to the public. The truth may be somewhere in the middle.

The visit to the other school was a visit to the big house to watch a Michigan game. Am I remembering this correctly?

Good football player, but came across like an attention whore IMO. I feel like he would have been in the doghouse from Day 1 if he came to Iowa. Just my opinion.

Any idea what the deal was with Willies?

Also, why did KF have DJK black balled in the NFL?

IIRC Willies quit mid year, wanted to come back. KF gave him a specific set of criteria to make it happen, DW wanted no part of it.. DJK got himself black balled by the NFL.

I know. That was supposed to be sarcasm. Seems these topics come up quite frequently and I wouldn't be surprised if the OP is simply trolling.

That's because DJK is a dumbass. And before people start attacking me, yes I knew him personally.
My buddy was doing an internship under Doyle around that time. One of the many DJK stories that was relayed to me dealt with Kirk chewing some major ass about the team not being focused before the season (08 or 09). Someone had just been busted for this or that and Kirk was trying to put the fear of god into them about being the next one to screw up.

Long tirade about making good choices, staying focused, etc. Kirk wraps up and everyone is quiet for a couple seconds. DJK decides to break the silence by stating he was planning on going to the bar later that night and wanted to see if that was OK. Coach wasn't nearly as amused as DJK and after an extended one-on-one ass chewing, believe took up residence in a dog house for a while.

Hell of a WR though.

He was definitely a playmaker, I will never argue that.

It's amazing how many people live in the past and can't move on with life.

Or you know, some people are just curious about something they don't remember that well. I doubt OP stays awake at night thinking about why we lost Eno.

I for one started thinking about why Benny Sapp was dismissed from the team a couple of weeks ago before Minnesota. Had not thought about the guy in years (or whenever his son was being discusses as a recruit). I'd sure like to think I've moved on with my life from that.

This! I completely forgot about Eno until I saw his name appear on a different board last week and it got me thinking about how that whole thing went down and I heard so many different stories since I don't live in the state of Iowa anymore. So I was just asking the people on HR what the facts were because I couldn't remember.

I believe the missing points of this is that the two coaches in contact with them knew. Then Eno took the visit and when Kirk got mad the other two coaches acted like they didn't know about Eno's visits. Those two coaches left shortly after.
