Made my way from Bloomington, IN to the St. Louis area on Friday evening. First stop tonight was to see A.J. Epenesa play some basketball..yep, some hoops. He had 13 points, I think, tonight. Plenty of foul trouble as the opposing team flopped like crazy in this one and A.J. also picked up two very suspect technical fouls.
Anyway, caught up with him after the game and the first thing he did, even though his team won, was apologize for being on the bench so much with foul problems. We spent some time talking about his efforts as a recruiter and of course, he reveals during the interview that he has his Hawkeye sweatshirt on under his team basketball gear.
Next stop tomorrow night is to see Tyler Cook play in person before heading back to Iowa. Epenesa might be in the gym to watch his friend too.
