Espenesa at on Defensive End and

It will work in the 2020 season. Until then, our best pass rusher is A Nelson.

I like the “NASCAR “ pass rush of A Nelson, AJE, Hesse and Brincks right now for obvious passing downs. If he can break into that group for the 2019 season, that would be impressive for the RSFr. (Guessing he redshirts)

A Nelson had a heck of a year. I wouldn't be suprized if he's first team all BIG next season.

Brinks & Hesse will both be SR's in 2018 so I think he has a real good chance of seeing the field for 2019.

I'm not ready to say that Waggoner will be so great just yet. He may be and if so would love to see him out there opposite AJ.

Would love to see who else emerges and does great or who else we recruit that may be a star

Waggoner will work hard and be in the mix and hopefully others will be too. Get some good competition going along the DL and see who is the baddest.

As soon as he gets better with leverage and contain against the run he may make 1st team. He's still struggling with that which is why Brincks has played so much.

John Waggoner on the other End..........

Yeah, that will work !!

GO HAWKS :)
Gotta think AJ will be playing more inside this year to provide depth. Unless the Juco kid can come in and physically compete in the BIG, our two DT positions scare me

Well, there's 3 that played a lot. Lattimore, M. Nelson, and Rieff. Nelson probably played the best and I think we haven't seen Lattimore's best yet. He was a 'true' soph, so he's still young. They use Rieff a lot when they are running stunts and twists. I think those 3 will continue to get bigger, stronger and improve technique wise. Morgan is a master at teaching line technique on both sides of the ball.
Remember, Davis didn't really do much until his senior year. I think Lattimore is ahead of where Davis was at.
I have a strong feeling they will move Brincks inside to help. He plays with great leverage (which is why as a walk-on he is playing) and has the frame for it. I think he could easily put on another 10-15 lbs (he put on 10 lbs. before last season) so he would play at around 6'5 285 next year. . I think they'll leave Epenesa right where he is at, so he can get the experience to take over when Hesse graduates and continue to work on his technique against the run (which he struggled with) and his edge rush.
They can afford to move Brincks inside because (like I've said many times) they are going to have a hard time keeping Ghoston off the field. He is my 'surprise' player of the year on Defense next year. It will be interesting.

I am thinking AJ will play DE & DT next year. Saw him walk by a few times and he look like he could add another 20 lbs of muscle. I believe he is listed at 270, wouldn't be surprised if he is 285-290 next year

AJ needs to watch alot of video of Reggie White and try to pick up a few things

Agreed. My point was that 1) I don’t think it happens next year, as I suspect he redshirts and 2) he will be battling a lot of guys already in the program for time during 2019, including A Nelson (starter) and AJE (projected starter). After that there are some other kids he has to pass to make it into the top4 DEs, in order to be in the top 8 rotation on the DL, namely Gholston, Brandon Simon, Romeo McKnight, Duwa and Probably others I am forgetting at the moment.

I think he can do it, but he will have to work hard to earn it. Now if he is good enough to earn some time next year, with a DE room that is as stacked as it is ... Wow. That would be impressive
