Anyone know how to access the app on direct tv? I've got a smart tv and direct tv subscription so it seems like it should work but I can't seem to find it

Normally, You install the app. Select it. When you login first time, select your provider.
If you're on Directv or other service provider, enter your user-id(sometimes that's your email) and password.
At times I've had to re-install the App, especially if not used for a while.

I keep getting a message saying customer is not authorized for content.
Had the same problem once. I had cox but then switched to playstation vue. I had to log out of cox provider from the watch ESPN app and then select the new provider. I don't know if this is your issue specifically but this fixed the authorization problem

Working fine for me and u have direct tv as well.. entered my direct tv login name (my email address) and my password.. just like I'm logging in to direct tv site to pay my bill..

Im sure most of you do, but you have to have ESPN as part of your Directv (or mediacom) package. If you just have the basic channels with directv or mediacom, you can't access ESPN3. If you do have ESPN with your cable or satellite company, then I don't know why it wouldn't work.

ESPN3 was not very clear today on my Roku streamer. In fact, it was barely watchable.

FWIW.

I watched the first half on my TV at home, using the ESPN ap on Apple TV (Apple TV works pretty well for stuff) and the second half on the ESPN ap on my phone.

Mine worked great on my phone and was very clear and way better than bigten plus.

Mine worked great and was clear on Roku Watch ESPN App. BTN plus works great on Roku or streaming through my computer. I think the speed of your internet affects BTN plus more than the Watch ESPN App. I have pretty fast internet through Comcast.

I have a Playstation Vue subscription which normally grants ESPN3 access and I am having the same issue. May be an issue on the ESPN side of things...

Let me know if you have any luck.

For those of you with PlayStation Vue, how do you like it?

I'm considering it as an option when my mediacom contract expires.

ESPN3 is based upon your internet provider, not your cable provider.

Watching ESPN, ESPN2, and their other channels on app/website is based upon your cable provider.

I have 100mb mediacom internet with Playstation Vue and it works well. I also pay 5.99 for CBS all access so my total bill is around $50. The other locals I get shows the next day. So far very happy not paying Dish 125 per month.
