ESPN article

With almost a month to prepare ... ya right. Next excuse please. That was an embarrassment. OhioSt didn't show vs an OK MichSt team and payed for it. The whole Big 10 paid for it with those pathetic major bowl performances. Just embarrassing.

The excuse I put out was that Stanford was the better team and obviously better prepared. I don't think the CCG changes the loss in the Rose Bowl but was curious if it may have had an impact on just how uncompetitive the game was. That is all.

How could two games played a month apart have a impact on each other ?

I didn't read the article, and I agree that Stanford was simply the better team both yesterday and likely any day. However, the psyche of a bunch of 18-22 year olds would have some impact on their preparation and performance. I would think that it would be easier to see the game snowball out of control quickly with some early damage, like what happened yesterday, following the way the B1G CCG played out. I do not think that a game four weeks earlier would impact them physically, but the mental has a big impact on the physical.

A lot of new posters on this site lately, and in this thread - I smell trolls. Where were you all when Iowa was 12 & 0. Or better yet, where will you all be next season when the Hawkeyes again win the West!

Dead on. The excuse about emptying their tanks in the BIG CCG is pure garbage especially, like you said, with a month to prepare. Good Lord ! This sounds as bad as the old, lame excuse that SEC teams use for bowl game failures when they claim about beating each other up during the regular season. Next excuse please.
