This is not a flame; Woody just needs to play within his capabilities. It is time for Woody to do what he does best; stay below the rim and just do the easy lay up. Forget about ever dunking the ball again.

The missed dunk made Mackey go crazy; Purdue then went the other way and hit a 3, creating an even crazier environment.

Here is the ugly video, which is titled "Seven footers aren't supposed to miss these dunks:" http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:14487523

I saw that on my phone, too. Thought it might be the subject of the "Per ESPN" thread that was started right after the game.

I agree that if Woody stays within himself he can be very effective for what we need out of him, but I'll bet if it was in Carver he throws it down.

Oops...Ad Daddy, I mean.

Everyone should do themselves a favor and not watch espn. I watch our games on their crap channels and immediately switch stations after it's over.

It allowed espn to be negative towards Iowa and put a negative spin on a great comeback and terrific week.

Oh please, ESPN always shows stuff like this even when it's not the Hawks. They showed Mark Sanchez's "butt fumble" for months and months and months after it happened. They show missed dunks all the time. Also, they're right. 7 footers shouldn't miss those.

I think people take the media way to seriously. Bottom line is Woodbury shouldn't miss those dunks. To think ESPN is deliberately taking shots at Iowa is crazy.

Exactly. They even have a "Not Top 10" countdown every Friday, showing plays like Woody's missed dunk. And strange enough, it's usually not Iowa/Hawkeye related plays on there. But it's a super cheap shot by ESPN, because they hated us during football season.

Wait, they have a "Not Top 10" countdown? Who hosts THAT Bob Saget? Do they show a bunch of nut shots and squirrels riding water skis?
