Everyone Who Says Brock & Pryce Aren’t Big Players. . .

Do you know the term, “sample size”?
Please. Let’s compare their stats to other Big players. Because you’d find they fit in nicely. Brock has one of the best assist/turnover ratios in the Big and they are both plus 3 point shooters at 37&39% I’m not contending that they are All Big players, but this narrative that they don’t belong on a Big roster is stupid.

Honestly, I think Pryce may end up being as good as Dix. Lots of Bobby Hansen in his game, especially mentally.

Just stop it. Bobby Hanson played 10 years on the NBA and the reason he did it was because of his defense. Brock played his best game of the season and Pryce played a really nice last 7 minutes. It was our 1st road win of the year. You’re pushing it. Enjoy the win and quit trying to start something that’s not there.

Now do how they get exposed on defense consistently. I don’t mind Sandfort but Brock was coming off the bench on one of the worst big ten teams with historically a horrible PG history under Fran.

Give it up guy, Brock should be in the MVC.

Screw you. And that wasn’t Brock’s best game of the year by any stretch.

Are we really at a point where we are playing the "I told you so" game after our first away win of the season against a bad Rutgers team?
Excited Lets Go GIF

I think they are gonna go there. Pathetic huh?
Rutgers lol…. Yep Hawks are back baby! 🙄

When is the last “big” game Iowa has had the past two seasons?!? Beating a Rutgers team that has quit on the season while being 4 and 8 in the Big Ten. What a resounding victory!
And you would be bitching about Fran if we had two players that should be first round draft players and still can't win. It has to be Fran!!!

This is an overreaction just like anyone can overreact to a loss. You have to avoid being a myopic, reactionary sports fan. Whether you’re talking about players or Fran.

Harding is the starting PG on a Big 10 team that’s near the bottom of the conference and a bubble NIT team. He’s a hard worker and maximizes his abilities. But his limitations as a player and athlete ultimately reduce his impact over time. He’s not a starting caliber PG for any team serious about competing at the top level of a power conference.

Brock is a talented point guard, especially if he can knock down shots. But his lack of size is a concern on many nights.

I have been critical of Pryce and still don’t see a high ceiling but he is a gamer who squeezes a lot of juice out of an athletically small orange.

This was versus a team with worse record than us so have to take with a grain of salt.

Can kindly F off. These two are ballers and, with Dix and Dembele, won the game tonight.

Great win. It's better to take the high road because there is no "right" answer/opinion.

In my opinion, Harding is backup quality PG on a good team in B1G. He happened to have a good game vs Rutghers which didn't really have a PG that could back him down/abuse him. I'd rather have a guy like Thornton for OSU that beat us at our place and was able to shut down Braden Smith and get a win vs Purdue.

Pryce has impressed me a times and then he will do a Payton thing. Why the two Brothers seem to be either hot or cold together more games than not is what upsets me. They should be mentally strong enough to be uncorrelated. I would play the hotter hand---Payton or Sandfort. Fran has been fixated on playing the guy with Union card. That is Fran Ball.

When I look at the talent we had--- Freeman, Payton, Pryce, Thelwell, Traore, Dix and several guys at center like Mulvey/Braun that were willing to play their heart out on defense/rebounding, but Fran wouldn't play them----the team's current bottom feeder status is ALL on Fran. The small ball lineup he had with Harding and Thelwell both playing and no rebounding/defense explains most of the losses and blowouts. This should be another Fran 0.500 B1G team. Fran should be crying, he botched this year's coaching job and is a career DOA at NCAA tourney, with his coachng days numbered. He should Go out with Class, like Tom Davis and leave a good legacy.

I haven't watched much RU BB this season, so I can't make an informed challenge to your assertion that the RU team has quit. I do recall Hummell saying during the broadcast that RU was now healthy and expecting to make a run and feeling like they could compete with anyone.

Largely agree. I do think Harding can be an above average point guard with more experience and strength, but you can’t pair him with another small guard or you get eaten up on defense in the Big.

This team has talent, I agree this has been by far Frans worst year of coaching. Guys like Mulvey should have been playing more all along because he rebounds and defends. Dembele hasn’t earned his minutes, although he played well the 2nd half last night. Traore should have started from the get go.

I have yet to see Iowa play in person. I’ve seen Rutgers play multiple times. Just ask their fan base about the effort level, but more so how their coaching staff has somehow managed to take a team with two of the best players in the country and lose more games than you’ve won. People aren’t happy.

What happened to "Harding can definitely be the next Braden Smith."

lmao

They were key contributors, no doubt. This was one of Brock's better performances and he has had other good ones, but unfortunately he faces a lot of bad match-ups and is a net liability in those games. I think Pryce can be the more consistent player regardless of the level of competition.
