Everything about this article makes me sick

There’s a saying in Portuguese, quem pode, pode.

Literally, who can, can. For those that can’t understand the nuance, it means, those who have it can do whatever they want, at the expense of others.

There’s no way to tell.
In both instances you’re going to have $450 million dollars of activity.
Concentrated it may be used to fund a new venture, creating new jobs and products or services that didn’t exist before. Spread out it could just lead to an incremental increase in consumption, but an extra sale at Dairy Queen won’t necessarily compel the creation of a new job.

But wealth isn’t a zero sum game.
If you create a painting that someone else highly values, at whose ‘expense’ did that new wealth come from? The person who didn’t make an appreciated work of art?

No one needs billions of dollars.

500K yearly is a ton.
They don’t have a billion dollars based on ‘need’.
They have a billion dollars because they made something (usually a company) that other people value at billions of dollars.
So what you’re saying is, people shouldn’t create valuable companies, or if they do, they should be divested of their ownership? In favor of whom? The people who didn’t build the valuable company?

Why? Because it upsets your sensibilities?

Reality is your reality is made immeasurably better because there are people creating enterprises valued in the billions of dollars. Rather than deprive you of anything, they have that much wealth because they typically make products or services that meet the needs of millions of people. You get the richest under capitalism by meeting the needs of the masses. Ferrari has their market, but they don’t have Toyota’s market cap.

i feel like we have a system that does demand rigor and toughness from citizens but at the same time generates more than enough food shelter and entertainment for every one. even for the ones who completely drop out. yes the "winners" have obscene wealth and can attempt to do and experience outlandish things that nobody else can but the "losers" have enough to be more comfortable than bulk of the "winners" from other systems and opportunities to exercise their creativity.
not saying there isn't room for improvement. there absolutely is. taxing the uber rich more might indeed be one answer (though i don't know if that will make a dent in inequality, so it's just mostly a punitive measure) but i'm certain that weakening the engine that produces enough for everyone or killing off or running off the best and brightest aren't the right answers. most of you aren't asking for that but i've seen some (perhaps not in this thread) that do.

What are you talking about?
Some dummy said, “Definitely, dont you notice the similarities with ancient Rome, the arrogance of the British Empire, the Kings of Persia wanting to grab everything.”

I tried to point out to the dummy that the Roman Empire, the British Empire, and the Persian Empire didn’t buy their possessions. They seized them through war. It’s a historically and economically illiterate analogy, but I’m not sure if the dummy understands that yet. Stay tuned!

Yeah some people just don't get it. If there's not companies out there giving other opportunities at jobs then you have a real problem.

Stoking the flames…

What is foolish is that there is ZERO evidence that George Soros paid anyone to destroy anything.

Wish the so called conservatives would stick to provable facts and reality, not drown themselves in conspiracy theories. Of course if they did that they might find themselves being actual conservatives occasionally.

So, typically you have nothing, and for the record, I doubt he is without sin. I have yet to see a bilionaire that was. But, you do seem to admire certain felons and south african nazis, so clowns, such as yourself, would be better off if they stopped showing their stupidity.
