F*** them veterans

Why do Dems always say "people will die!!!"

It doesn't come across as sincere at all.
What would you prefer they say?

If the VA cuts 80k jobs, Veterans will tragically suffer from delayed medical appointments, reduced mental health services, and slower processing of disability claims and pensions. They will face decreased support for job training, education, and housing assistance, while the remaining overburdened staff (suckers and losers) may lead to errors and reduced quality of care. Is that better?

thewop will likely need to see a tiktok video from a Trump supporter before any of this will make sense.

RN and other MAGA's believe that the government employs 10s of thousands of employees that do nothing but twiddle their thumbs and that getting rid of them will have no effect on government services.

The savings will be beautiful. Never been anything like it, really, in the history of the world. It will be a little painful for awhile. But I love those vets, willing to sacrifice for our country, and they will step up and sacrifice again.

- Trump, probably
Paging all HORT realtors.

The AP story seems to imply that they will be moving more towards opening up access to private facilities again, based on the quote from Blumenthal. I have mixed feelings about that because lack of communication between private facilities and VA will surely be an issue in some cases and have negative effects on outcomes. On the other hand, it solves a lot of access issues for veterans that don't live near VA facilities and have transportation issues.

I can only assume that the memo they are using as a source explains this, but the author makes no mention of it.

It would be great if they would just share the memo rather than cherry picking a few lines and slapping a headline on it.

Making it harder to access health care is the exact same thing for all intents and purposes.
That’s odd because on Monday, a large contingent of people from the VA and their doctors toured our hospital because they want to start doing cases here. Better healthcare for the veterans at a reduced cost, win win

Yet, I see states all over the country talking about a lack of healthcare workers and overcrowded facilities.

And the healthcare workers will be welcomed with open arms the administrative staff may have to find different jobs
