Remember when this was a family night?

Eeeh The 80's were better. We were poor so we had to rent a VCR from Video Update. It came in this giant cushioned bag. I was always bummed if we got there and all the VCR's were rented out. I loved the smell of the VCR tapes when I would eject them and put the back in the cover.

One time I rented Dark Side of the moon and left it on the counter. I called them when I got home and they said it wasn't there. They charged me $80 for that damn tape.

I worked at the service desk of the grocery store in high school so if there were VCRs left at the end of the night they would let us take them home for free. We just had to return them the next afternoon. We thought that was the greatest thing to ever happen to us. Only rich people had VCRs.

I remember waiting at the return bin waiting for the top movies to return.

I didn't have a family...but I usually had beers, a 1/4 gram of weed and enough money for a movie and Little Ceasers pizza.
