A growing chorus is calling for more use of our weapons. I agree Fant needs to be split out and we can use Hock and another TE to fill our needs.
This is the type of out-of-the-box thinking all of us want from Brian to separate himself from the GD/KOK era. That 1st quarter against Connie was brutal.

Fant needs absolutely as much time on the field that he can handle
Weren't both his touchdowns against WI from the tight end position? If he matched up against a slower LB that's to Iowa's advantage. He did seem underutilized the last game, but not sure putting him in the slot 80% is the best use of his abilities.
I don't think we should get caught up in the %. As far as TE position - yes, in an ideal world we keep him there. But which one of our WRs can high-point the ball? That's why you use him every way you can. He's already set records after a short time. Since this is our last year with him, let's make the most of it.
Hock plays twice as many snaps it seems. He also has best hands on the team
Hockenson is a better blocker. And I believe Fant was injured in the UNI game and is probably still suffering from it. A week off will do him some good.
I wanted to follow this up by saying hockenson is a total beast and if the game was on the line i wouldn't mind one bit to go his way
Fant gets all the publicity, but I think Hock is our best all around TE. Yes, we need to get Fant on the field, but he needs to work on his blocking which is I think why he had a more limited playing role against Bucky. I do think that Iowa should get some more 3 TE looks though.
Fant & Hock are like meat and potatoes. You just gotta have both.
