You still didn't answer my question, which no one has. Being critical of a player, no matter how good you believe he is was not trashing him. I made no reference to him as a person, only to his performance (and his performance all year has been less than expected). Fant hasn't earned anything YET, besides 3rd team all conference last year. Pre-season picks mean nothing, you still have to earn it on the field, and he's not earning it. The only person I was 'trashing' was Fant's brother. Sorry it is hard for people to understand, and most only understand what their biases allow.
I'm sure you defend the coaches and the players you don't think are stars with the same vigor when they are criticized on here.....NOT!
All the other starters were still in. I didn't see any other 'key players' cowering and not doing their jobs. I guess the RB's should have just fell down before they got tackled because they are 'key players' and the linemen should have just let the Dline through because we wouldn't want them getting hurt, Lol. Iff topic but they said he has a 42” vertical when comparing him to KeBron yesterday. If he actually has a 42” inch vertical jump he should play every snap and should also play for the BB team. He is a very good player and a good athlete for a TE but no way he has a 42” verifcal.

There was something about his times and they are world class. Only one TE in history has had better combine numbers. He’s projected for first round.

And while your at it, tell me if and how Fant has improved from last year? He was 3rd team all-conference last year and hasn't earned anything this year, including mid-season all-american teams. His brother complained about his lack of playing time and I believe he had even less this last game. Why do you think that is? Hmmm....
Hockenson showed again this last game how he is clearly the superior TE on this team. While he keeps getting better in every facet, Fant needs to quit looking at his pre-season all-american clippings,needs to quit thinking about playing on Sundays, and work on improving his blocking, focus/concentration, and route running. I assure you he's been hearing that from BF and KF lately as they are aware of what his brother has said and aware that he has not shown much, if any, improvement from last year.

I appreciate that, and you are correct, I do not know if he is worrying about that. There may be other factors involved that I/we are not aware of. That part of my discourse could be viewed as unfair or inaccurate.

I don't know what the coaches see during practice, but from what announcers are saying Fant has been nicked up. I don't know his family, I know his father I guess has bad mouthed the coaching staff for his apparent lack of playing time. Big deal, I have sat at games before listening to fathers do a play by play of a game like their kid is a D1 prospect, then look at the field and his kid is standing on the sideline. Most every parent thinks their kid should get the ball on every play, and watch the game with blinders on. Fant is a great player and will be a high draft pick to play on Sunday, but in my mind, the TE we cannot do without is Hock, he can do it all and will also be playing on Sundays. he is the next George Kittle.
