$10k a DAY? You bill your time out at over $1k per hour? If so, in what area of law and the country, and I will move and begin training immediately.

No if I actually bill it‘s $450 an hour as I have zero overhead and only work as an independent co-counsel with a firm meaning I keep 100% of what I bill. But I typically work on contingency where I get a percentage of the payout so it usually is far more than that. I only take larger employment, contract and corporate issue cases as I’m currently working with a firm where they let me 100% choose the Florida cases I want from their caseload and the rest are farmed out or turned away. So I cherry-pick only the really easy to resolve cases where the payout is low but so are my hours or the really juicy ones with high payouts. I only take cases where the payout is less than $50k for me if I think it’s going to settle really early.

Root beer is slightly above Dr. Pepper in crap sodas
I love root beer, but Dr. Pepper is absolutely disgusting. I never order soda at a restaurant anymore, but when I was a kid if I asked for a root beer and the waitress said some variation of "sorry, we don't have that. Do you want a Dr. Pepper?", I immediately wanted to ask how they lost their sense of taste.

For the canned, readily available I'd go A&W and Barqs tied for first (both are good in their own way). Mug is a distant last place. Culver's is really good, as are the Sioux City varieties. Never was a big fan of dad's but it's been years. Locally, Barn Town brewery's is pretty good.

You are either one hell of a trial lawyer, have the market cornered in a niche lucrative specialty, or have some combination thereof…

Growing up I loved going to A&W and getting the Root Beer in a frosted mug.
This. The A&W in the frosted mug was heavenly.

CSB time, when I was 18 years old I was driving home from hanging out with some friends. I had stopped and got a Sioux City root beer in the glass bottle from Caseys (might have actually still been a Quik Trip at this time, can't remember) before heading home for the night. It was around 10pm. I was on my way home and my radar detector started going off, I wasn't speeding so didn't worry about it much. I took a drink out of my root beer and right as I did it I passed the cop car. Within about 15 seconds, the cop had his lights on and was on my ass.
I pulled over and the cop approached my vehicle. When he got to my window, I asked if there was a problem because I knew I wasn't speeding. He told me that I was "swerving everywhere" which is why he pulled me over, then asked if I had been drinking and shined his flashlight on the glass bottle between my legs. I told him no, and said it was root beer and he then said "well then you'll have no problems with me smelling it." I happily handed him the bottle. He smelled it, and then told me (an 18 year old at 10pm) that I needed to "go straight home". Handed the bottle back to me and went back to his vehicle.

When I think of root beer, the frosted A&W mugs always come to my mind first, followed by that story.

Option 4 lucky. I was literally solicited out of the blue by a headhunter and gifted with maybe the most ideal job ever. I get all the benefits of working with a big firm (unlimited resources, giant marketing budget to bring in quality clients, plenty of political pull) but the headquarters are in LA, San Fran and Phoenix while I work remotely from home on my Florida cases and I get a big law firm partner cut of the cases while I don’t have to worry about supervision of others or any nonlegal related business “stuff” like finance and marketing. So I really did luck into it.

Now I will say that no one who wasn’t a former administrative law judge with twenty plus years of employment law practice and their own
corporate and real estate knowledge from running multiple corporations and large professional groups, BUT…there actually are a few people with similar enough resumes to mine that they could have offered it to someone else.

And it’s good that the luck helped me out on this because the reason I’m not rolling in a nine figure largesse is because one of my businesses got hit with a Cat 5 Hurricane and another got hit by a volcano.

Sticking only with “root beers” I’ve had and excluding those I haven’t tried or are wholly called sasparilla’s or birch beers, my favorites in order are:

1) Dang! Butterscotch Root Beer
2) Abita
3) Bulldog
4) McGuire’s Irish Pub
5) Paige’s Burgers
6) Chowning Tavern
7) Freddie’s
8) O-So Good Butterscotch Root Beer
9) Sioux City
10) IBC
11) Monticello
12) A&W
13) Boylan’s
14) Red Arrow
15) Appalachian
16) Hank’s
17) Stewart’s
18) Sprecher’s
19) Frostie’s
20) Zia’s
21) Virgil’s
22) Braums
23) Route 66
24) Saranac
25) Weber’s
26) Kutztown
27) Sparky’s
28) Henry Weinhard’s
29) Fitz’s
30) Bundaberg
31) Mug
32) Dublin Texas
33) Barq’s
34) Dad’s
35) Maine Root

Note: I like Hires second best of the mass produced stuff after A&W but I read while trying to find some names of other root beers I’ve had that it was officially discontinued in 2022. Hopefully they bring it back at some point.

Despite the length, I’m sure there’s some I’ve tried and long since forgotten about. There’s one in the Tarpon Springs/Dunedin/Clearwater area that was quite good but I can’t seem to find out its name online. I’d have it top ten.

Also, I think the Top 26 on my list are worth seeking out. Only those I numbered 27-35 would I say to skip.
at least you like Barq's better than Dad's. But it's the king of cheap commercial root-beer.

No. I mean Birch Beer. Red or white!

My godparents owned the A&W in Waukon years ago and my mom was the kitchen manager. I love the root beer and have many different size mugs and pitchers. I think my mom might have the full size Rooty the bear costume.

Yep. Our whole family would load up into the station wagon and go. We were given the option of root beer or a small vanilla cone.

My absolute toughest choice of early childhood!
I will always remember my dad took me to A&W on coney dog Tuesday and I said I wanted a hamburger. He said no. This is the only day you can get coney dogs for 59 cents. I had no say in the matter so I got a coney dog. Even though I didn't like them
