According to a ruling from U.S. District Judge Robert L. Hinkle, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) broke the law when he dismissed Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren over vague accusations that he was not prosecuting crimes that the governor deemed important, reports the Miami Herald.

The controversial Florida Republican held a press conference last August to attack Warren and state that he was being relieved of his duties.

In a sharply-worded rebuke on Friday, Hinkle, a federal judge, bluntly stated DeSantis was in the wrong.

In his ruling, he wrote, "The allegation was false. Mr. Warren’s well-established policy, followed in every case by every prosecutor in the office, was to exercise prosecutorial discretion at every stage of every case. Any reasonable investigation would have confirmed this.”

But the judge also doesn't have the authority to reinstate the fired state's attorney. Interesting

Uh, exactly what federal law was violated here?

Okay. His opinion. Neither surprising nor unexpected from a Democrat appointed by a Democrat.
🤷‍♀️
🤣 🤣 🤣 A Federal judge made a ruling! It's not like an op-ed in the paper. So, we are now to question every ruling made by any judge appointed by Trump or any other Republican president as being politically biased?

You are as predictable in your defense of DeSantis as the sun rising in the east!

That says the judge dismissed the lawsuit. Not happy about it, but the suit was dismissed.

When there’s a ruling we disagree with it’s an activist judge or judges. That’s the bipartisan approach anyway…

See Supreme Court overturning Roe for reference. 😄

Is this a joke? Because that is EXACTLY what has been happening.

How did the judge's ruling in this case roll back long standing rules and laws?
It didn’t.

If you haven’t noticed when a judge makes a ruling that either side of the political spectrum doesn’t agree with their an “activist“ judge or judges.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on that one.

Yep. As predictable as critics who scream that SCOTUS is no longer a credible institution because it has a conservative majority?

Yep exact same. The Florida judge said that dismisall of judges was settled law during his hearing. Then went and refeserved that statement bringing into question his creditabilty.

Hilarious. Judge dismisses the case but the story is the law was broken. Did the judge forget their role?
