Ferentz Ran On Field To Call Timeout During Stanley INT

Either that or illegal shift on the OLine. No way they were set when the ball was snapped. Should have been a dead play regardless of the TO or not.

Makes me wonder if the field judge noticed it, if the linesman up field at the line of scrimmage noticed Ferentz calling for the time out. In other words, there would've been another official between this field judge and Ferentz.....maybe this guy figured it was up to the linesman closer to Ferentz to acknowledge and grant the time out?

Officials make calls from across the field all the time, shouldn't be any different here if he saw it.

YOU BLOW THE ****ING WHISTLE BEFORE YOU WAVE YOUR ARMS!!! Should have been a delay of game for the coach being on the field if you don't call the time out. Should be a reprimand coming for that piss poor excuse of officiating!!!

This call was terrible as was the clock continuing to run with about 56 seconds left in the last drive before the ball was spotted after a first down. You don’t get these calls at Beaver Stadium, but this one is on Iowa - they should have put PSU away earlier.

THANK YOU for mentioning the clock. I couldn't believe the coaches weren't losing their minds over the clock starting there. Total home-field clock operator moment there.

Dang. That getting caught on film is going to get someone an ear full from the B1G official's office... What a bizarre thing to have happen. How can you mistake KF calling TO, and then do nothing...?

Nothing will happen and B1G will continue to be terrible at officiating games. I wish Jim Delaney would hire officials as their primary job in all sports so they can get the best of the best to repreeent the B1G in all sporting events when it comes to officiating.

That clip should be sent to the Big Ten head quarters, ref failed to do his job and it directly changed the outcome of the game.
An NFL ref lost his job this week. This guy should too. And I don’t take firing people, and food out of mouths, lightly. I’m sure Vegas benefited.

Clock is controlled by the refs on the field - not anyone from PSU in the booth. Penn Staters know that all too well thanks to the 2005 game at Michigan.

Bobby Colosomo from WDM was the umpire in charge of calling holds on the olines and didn’t call one on either side. He should of seen Kirk on the field since his position is right behind the dline, similar to the linebackers. Regarding this guy that swallowed his whistle, his primary job is not officiating B1G games so I wouldn’t worry about taking food out of his mouth. He is getting paid to officiate and did a crappy job of it. Get rid of those that can’t do it well, like the NFL does.

KF should have on the field earlier and pulled Stanley off. Two players really cost the game, Stanley and Jackson. You see other players make one mistake and they are yanked, not these two.

Aleric played horrible yet was left in. Stanley was off from the get go, should have been yanked after first drive of 3rd qrt.

I NEVER blame the refs/umps on on a loss. I won’t here. But on this PLAY He failed.
I try to stay away from the Referee "bashing", as they have an extremely difficult task to perform, but in this particular case the guy failed big time. He basically choked.

I'm having a hard time understanding what stopped him from calling the timeout.

Are you saying the clock is manually started and stopped by officials on the field and not by someone in the booth? Because if you are, you are full of caca.

The vast majority of collegiate officials are highly compensated professionals with career positions in other fields. The officiating is just a side job.

I seriously want that official interviewed. He clearly saw something well before the snap. Is his take that it was not actually a timeout being called? What does KF have to say? Holy, cow, how could things get any worse?

He’s a penn state fan. He is full of lots of things with caca being one of them.
