Officials are above the law. They don't grade out well their punishment is they dont get the big time games...boo hoo. If they mess up their bosses send a letter that says we're sorry.

One guy just got fired from the NFL he is just a scapegoat....

Makes me wonder if the field judge noticed it, if the linesman up field at the line of scrimmage noticed Ferentz calling for the time out. In other words, there would've been another official between this field judge and Ferentz.....maybe this guy figured it was up to the linesman closer to Ferentz to acknowledge and grant the time out?

Any official can grant a Time our. If they see him signalling they have to grant them a TO
