Bought a house in CR, moving this spring to Iowa after 23 years living in Kansas.

Picked up 4 season tickets for the 2025 season, and am stoked to be able to be in attendance with you all.

Question, is a parking pass worth it? Usually the wife and I park in the commuter lot and take the shuttle in, and that typically works well. We would like to do a little more tailgating, and make some friends when we move up. Thoughts / recommendations?

I don’t go to enough games to buy a full season pass, but if I did I would lock in a spot at Franks EZ park on Myrtle. Good group of regulars from all over the state. Kids playing pick up football games. It’s really just a back yard. Nice walk to the game. They quit doing ‘one day’ passes a few years ago, so I haven’t been in a while but it’s my fave.

Maybe experiment with a few different lots. Maybe for the age I'm assuming you are, try some of the houses that rent out parking spots. A little more familiarity on a week by week basis.

I only tailgate once a season anymore so I'm the wrong guy to give advice. What part of the field did you get tickets?

Home side, near the 20 yard line or so. Fairly far up, but it's the only 4 seats they had open where we wanted.

If you want to meet people, then the house route on a Melrose or similar street is the way to go. Not sure the cost on them. If you want to get in a lot say near the baseball stadium or Carver, they are reasonable for the season but also based on donation level I believe. You could sell just one parking pass, for say Penn State next year, for more than you paid for the entire season.

House lot on either Melrose or Myrtle. We pulled into a random lot on Myrtle about 5 years ago and have been back to that same spot about 15 times now. Love it.

Beats the hell out of parking in a massive lot with 400 other people and two porta potties

Appreciate your negative comment, but it won't fade for me. I've been a hawkeye fan my whole life. They could go 0-12 for the next 10 years and I'd still buy season tickets and enjoy myself. I always want my team to win, but my enjoyment isn't dependent upon it.
15 Leamer Court. Nice folks, porta potty in the back, TV in the garage for watching other games. Usually have an empty spot or two. Ask for Vicki

No - park in the neighborhood to the north and get out of the area in a reasonable amount of time.
