That's not really what they are doing (banning porn). However I can understand the "provide a photo ID" method of age verification isn't going to lead to very many people logging in either.
There are several states that have put new laws on porn sites in an effort to try to get minors from using the site. I think the goal is noble but I think ultimately they need to come up with a system that allows some degree of age verification without at the same time requiring users to provide personally identifying information.
But to pretend like we shouldn't be engaging in some degree of regulation in this space is I think short sighted.
Pornhub has settled lawsuits and is being sued for rape, sex trafficking and child porn videos. Every time someone clicks their site, they get ad money for it.

I'm thinking of putting in a huge bank of private luxury toilets with excellent WiFi right across the river in Council Bluffs.
