I know that I often have a different perspective so many might not see it this way, but here is my line of thinking.
This football team has been a really good surprise to me in that they have won games against really good competition. The first win against a top 20 Indiana team with a dominant defensive performance. The second a strong win against a top 10 in state rival on their home field...again, very strong defensive effort.
Now we have two games against lesser teams. First Kent St (who is an actual threat) and then Colorado State. Some fans see this as a let down after the first two high intensity games, fans back in the stands, national TV coverage etc.....BUT we all saw that our offensive line and QB need improvement. Consequently, I have a great deal of interest in seeing how much improvement we can make in those areas before we hit the rest of the B10 schedule...these next two games will be crucial to getting our Oline figured out...which in turn should make the running game work...which in turn should make our passing game open up. We need receivers to catch the ball more consistently AND for our QB to be more consistent and relaxed in the pocket....so I will find these games very interesting to watch.
In basketball we have a very young and inexperienced team as a whole....JBO & Connor being the exceptions. We have some chump teams....ranked in the 300s....Regardless of those rankings we need to see individual player development and improvement, team defensive strides, rebounding, perimeter shooting, half court offense, running, pressing, etc. etc....all in order to develop continuity and consistency. So, these chump games aren't throw aways (don't bother watching) for me.....I know the improvements and development that we need to see. So, I will be watching these games with great interest. All that said, there are two or three too many of these teams on the schedule for my liking....
Love the pictures that shows good progress in the weight room and off season conditioning.
