Lol, seems Iowa almost always gets put up against the overall 1 seed in every tournament when seeded 8/9. Not saying that's true, but just a reaction from me. Duke in the 2nd round a couple times, Kentucky another time, etc.
That is what I grew up with, 8/9 game win and a loss to the 1 seed, rinse and repeat LOL..

Right now, Iowa should be no worse than a 6 seed. I'd say a 5 would be about right at the moment.
only one 16 seed has won, so I think it's that way for pretty much every 8/9.....
I actually remember that happening A TON of times to the Iowa Women's team. Always did well, ended up with the Dreaded 8 seed, and then promptly got bounced in the 2nd round. Glad those days seem to be over (for now), and hopefully the Men can also stay off of that line.
Previous poster is referring to the overall 1 seed not just the 1 seed in the region
