Malcolm grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, in a single parent home and saw firsthand how education does change lives. As a High School All-American football player Malcolm was interviewed by the New York Times as well as Diane Sawyer on the CBS Morning News. These experiences prompted the scholarship athlete to earn a Journalism degree from the University of Iowa, with a minor in Women's Studies and emphasis in Russian History. As a former Big Ten Intercollegiate athlete and Rose Bowl participant, Malcolm is making the finishing touches to a book that illustrates the conflict of major college sports and the mission of education.
