Former KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappearence update

If you haven't read it, read about The Franklin Cover Up or The Franklin Scandal. One of the abused kids in there said he was there whene Gosch was abducted. It is a disturbing story and cover up of child abuse involving Boys Town in Omaha and alot of influential people. Too much smoke in it for at least some of it not to be true.
I have watched the documentaries on this credit union or bank for sure

and several other documentaries where johnny gosch is said to be there

I believe he became Jeff Gannon and did gay porn before becoming a member of the press group at the WH during the Bush years. Noreen hasn't confirmed.

I know literally nothing about this case, but she probably met a serial killer in a bar and he killed her and hid the body.

It was probably the same exact scenario as with you except the guy was a serial killer (and probably smarter and better looking than you, Joe ;))

If I'd had a basement at the time.....but tough to do from a 3rd floor 2 bedroom apartment.

I always thought it was Vansice, he quickly moved to Arizona and was the last person to see her alive.

Didn’t he pass a polygraph? Or was it inconclusive? If he is innocent why would he stick around town if everyone thought you were guilty? Hope they solve these crimes. Is there any statute of limitations for murder?

As AcieEarl replied, a polygraph means nothing. Anyone with average intelligence and a few minutes of training can pass one.

MASON CITY, Iowa (KIMT) —

Former KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappeared June 27, 1995, and it is a day Kevin Hook remembers well.

“When I was younger, I lived by Harding Elementary School, and I would ride my bike to the park a lot,” Hook said. “My mom, for the longest time, would freak out and said I should never ride my bike near the apartments where she was abducted.”

The Mason City Police Department continues to follow up on leads in the case.

KIMT News 3 learned that within the past year, Mason City police requested a search warrant of two vehicles.

Those vehicles belong to Arthur “John” Vansice.

According to online court documents, police requested in March 2017 GPS data for a 1999 Honda Civic and 2013 GMC 1500, which is giving hope to Hook.

“Just being an open case for so long I, think it would be very good to know what happened, what her last hours, days, were like,” he said.

Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley said he can't discuss why the two vehicles are important to the case or details about the search warrant.

“There’s investigative integrity that we are looking to preserve,” Brinkley said. “I’m not going to talk about the technology that we use to do this kind of stuff.”

But he does want the public to know they aren’t done searching.

“We are going to continue to use all of the resources at our disposal and the disposal of other agencies that we have been working with since day one,” Brinkley said. “I think at some point, someday, it will pay off and we will clear the case.”

Does Mason City still have a TV station? When this happened I was surprised a city that size had one.

Hope they find something out finally about Jodie H.

I've always thought it was someone that knew her pretty well. Someone that knew her routine, and where she lived. Someone that she might have initially gone somewhere with willingly.
If she went willingly why was her purse and keys found by her car?No she was taken.

What about the supervisor of hers? She always seemed like she knew more than what she was telling? The one who knew it was odd she wasn't there...yet didn't she wait to call the police?

Interesting, didn’t know this and thought it would have been the opposite.

he didn't come to Fairfield or Ottumwa till later as far as I know. btw I have had had some talks with billy Mitchell and walter lately. it's interesting

Weird coincidence that the Nibbler record holder was named Tim McVey. Small world

CSB:

I met her the weekend before she disappeared at The Vine in IC. One of my buddies recognized her and she started chatting with us. Even got her phone number that night.

When the news hit that she had disappeared, I was in Mpls working at a contractor site for a few days and when I got back later in the week, I had 2 or 3 frantic messages from my buddies asking me if I heard the news and....."uh.....where ARE you man!?"

It was kind of surreal that someone you just met and enjoyed having a few beers with had been abducted and disappeared. At the time, everyone hoped she'd just taken off on a romantic trip or something, but that hope faded pretty quickly. Then, the rumor was that she was in some grain elevator and would be discovered when all the grain was removed....

Shit....22 years later and still nuthin.
She was at Jakes a bit the night she disappeared. A couple employees were hanging out with her and later were interviewed/cleared by police.

I don't recall that I was out on Sun/Mon night when we saw her - I thought it was the weekend, like a Saturday. But it's been 20+ years, so there's no way I'd be able to come up with specifics by now.

I think it was a Saturday. A co-worker everyone call "Rezonator" was dancing with her that night. IIRC his dad was there visiting and hanging out with him also. Like I said, he got interviewed - was freaking out about it beforhand - and was cleared.

After so many years I would think you would need a confessions.

After so long the only people that would remember details is the person guilty.

Even if I was innocent and I was asked to be interviewed I would want a lawyer present and prefer to say nothing. God forbid you walk yourself into a home because you accidentally forgot or misremembered something.

I knew John Vansice. I grew up in Brooklyn where he was from and played some slow pitch on a team with him. John was a tough SOB, but I don't see him as being the type to do something like that.

Better get an attorney.

I'm confused...my memory is hazy on this. But I thought she was likely abducted from her apartment, which I thought was in Mason City. Didn't they find her keys/purse, etc in the parking lot after she didn't show up for work early in the AM?

I don't remember an IC angle, at least as it relates to the last hours before she was determined to be missing.

She was partying in IC the weekend before her disappearance. She, indeed, was home in Mason City when abducted.

From what I remember, your first paragraph is right...but she was also out the night before she disappeared in Iowa City...pretty sure. I just remember we employees talking about Rez having to be interviewed about her disappearance and he was pretty nervous even though he knew he didn't do anything.

Mason City shares one with Rochester & Austin, MN, I believe.
They moved their news desk and focus to Rochester, I think (weird, considering KTTC Rochester), but doesn't KAAL still rock the Austin/Albert Lea market?

Anybody been to Big Island Days? Still popping?

There have also been a lot of weird accusations/claims made in this case as the years have gone by.

There was the fired officer a few years ago that said this.

http://wcfcourier.com/news/local/fo...cle_efc991f2-d50f-11e0-93d7-001cc4c002e0.html

Then there was this women in 2006 that claimed this...

http://globegazette.com/news/woman-...cle_6f78b682-4bfa-58cf-a8b9-19184b010c36.html

Just all very odd.

Sheesh, odd is right. Did anything ever come out of the two stories above?

I had a relative who taught in Brooklyn iowa

If I remember right the 2006 claim the women later said she made it up? So who knows ultimately how much it was looked in to?
I actually met her Friday as this story broke, really nice lady but she belongs to a church that many in the community views as an occult(I get that this is redundant). Would not take serious.

Just to be clear...the police woman in the first story that implicated fellow LEO's is NOT the same lady that reported seeing Jody in the barn...right?

I remember when this happened. I grew up about 2 hours away in a small town and the local police were on high alert. Kids couldn't walk home from school and if you were outside your parents or someone was watching you. It freaked everyone out for a while and us kids were like no big deal. I remember growing up every so often you would hear about "strange car" or person in the area. Nothing freaked people out like this did though, every parent was on high alert.

As this story comes up every so often, I wonder if they checked all the lakes in the area. I just wonder if someone had a boat, because the lack of details makes this very strange and odd. I know the police have been looking all over the country for the person. You watch all these CSI shows and there is always some sort of evidence left behind. What aren't they telling us?

I can't imagine how her family feels. No closure what so ever.

Mason City shares one with Rochester & Austin, MN, I believe.

KIMT (formerly KGLO) has operated out of their Mason City studios since 1954 and have been the CBS affiliate for north central Iowa and southern Minnesota for over sixty years. KAAL (KAUS) out of Austin is the ABC affiliate for that area and KTTC (KROC) in Rochester is the areas NBC affiliate. I don’t think any of these stations are affiliated with any of the other ones in that area although each probably have substations and radio affiliates. I always considered KIMT my preferred station for news and weather. I never trust Minnesota!

I miss Bart’s clubhouse.
