After the Illinois game and uncertainty of Jack Nunges health it is very apparent we need to build some depth with Big Men.

With ISU being terrible and if/when Prohm is fired I wonder if Foster would want to transfer back to the good guys with some playing time coming available.

We don’t have a 5 in this upcoming recruiting class so I assume they have to go after one in the transfer market?

What is up with the titles lately? Would it be great, sure, maybe someone can convince Ayo to transfer in as well.

How much convincing does one require to leave that awful team after Prohm is fired?

I guess if you're not interested in ever winning it may take someone a while to think about it.

I would take him in a minute....his senior year of high school he could have started for the Hawks...

Now things have changed since then sure...but Luka Garza isn't walking back down that CHA tunnel with a jersey on next year...

????
His hs senior year he couldn’t help his team win alot of games and you think he’d be starting for iowa?

Wonder if he's still dating the girl. I recall that "pro opportunity" was a factor which seems to be out the door right now........

Xavier Foster has a lot of talent and I predict that he will be an outstanding college player and most likely an NBA player. It is unseemly speculating about a transfer when he has given no indication that he is even thinking about one.

Foster is tall. He's not a "Big". As for his NBA chances... at 7 Feet tall he's already got a 1/3 chance. Playing for a D1 basketball team it's likely higher.

That said, I'm not seeing it.

If he's not "thinking about one" after this year I would be very surprised.

Iowa welcomed Adam H, I'm confident they would welcome Xavier

The talent around him wasn’t good but he was not getting big minutes like you would expect from a big time freshman.

He was hurt i think pretty much the entire season until he got shut down. Would I like to see him on Iowa? Absolutely. Too much there you can't teach (6-11 and can move) to ignore. Even if he were to transfer, Iowa should be looking for a grad transfer big who can play right away. Nunge should recover and be ready, but he's not been able yet to make it through an entire season healthy. Iowa can't go into next year with just he and Ogundele as the interior options.

Honestly Xavier foster is the last thing I’m thinking about. Will he transfer? How’s his relationship with the girl that was part of the reason he went to isu? Would he start for iowa? Is he nba talent? A lot of what if’s about a freshman in college who probably doesn’t even know what he’s gonna do. Let’s just enjoy what is hopefully a deep run in March and let the kid decide what’s best for himself.

If Prohm is fired, what are Fosters transfer options?
if Prohm is fired, will the Mayor be back?

Unfortunately for Foster, he's a big man with a foot problem. From Bill Walton to Sam Bowie to Greg Oden, there's a long history of big men being hampered by bad feet. He is a talented kid, but there's no guarantee he'll stay healthy.

With the myriad transfers that will be available and the success the Hawkeyes have enjoyed, the Iowa staff will be able to land a proven big man without the injury question marks.

So what you are saying is that Xavier will be at the worst a #2 overall pick in the NBA draft?

If Prohm is fired or not fired, I think Foster can transfer anywhere without having to sit out. The NCAA is going to have that one time deal where any player can transfer without penalty.
The link here would be helpful to his topic

Yeah, I have only watched him a few times in HS and a little in Ames. But my take is, He has a lot of potential but I do not see the aggression nor the drive to achieve a high level of play. But again, JMO.

I think he can become pretty good if he gets into the right system and stays healthy. My early post was more about a guy who struggles to get 15 vs Pella as a senior might not be a starter at Iowa as a freshman.
