Foster Transfer

Our center/s and big guys play outside as much as anyone's. Garza shot app 100 3's both of the last two years. White, Cook, Uthoff, etc

But Foster sees himself as a stretch four and prefers to play primarily outside...

Nunge was 3rd on team on 3FGA/40min trailing only JoBo and JoeW, so if he a big and wants to shoot 3’s, There is no better place than under Fran

I'd take Foster in a heart-beat. But its time for Iowa fans to accept that we ain't seeing the likes of a Luka Garza again in Iowa City for a while down the road. Luka is a generational talent and it will be unfair to compare those who will play center for the Hawks in the next few season to him.

When thinking about Garza it would be wise for Iowa fans to remember that even though we have seen a bevy of great guards at Iowa since, not one has been a Ronnie Lester.

All we need is for Luka to pave the way for consistently landing solid big men who can play within Fran’s system and stretch the floor. Iowa can have better teams with worse big men if we can get guards who take the pressure off of them

I like the young guards we have waiting in the wings. Definitely need another BIG.

I think Garza should come back next year and unretire 55 for a year 😎

No word on Prohm yet and even if he goes has there been any real smoke about Foster wanting to transfer? We’re spending a lot of time on a pipe dream in this thread, but like most on here I certainly would be pleased if it happened.

Mulvey seems to have a similar game. Outside shooter and a shot blocker without a strong post game. I would not be opposed to getting them both. A rebounder is a key IMO for us. Keegan and Patrick give us some options at a 3/4 , but a rebounding specialist has the best chance at seeing the floor early. Keegan will grab some boards , but who else?

Announcement Tuesday......might wanna listen to hear what's happening in Lincoln....
The Nebraska roster turnover for Fred is starting to resemble the number of guys fleeing the football team.

Hoiberg's formula at ISU doesn't seem to be working in Lincoln, so far.

his twin brother- Kris.

Of course he wouldn't, I just told you that,.. Foster just want's to hang out on the perimeter and jack up threes..

So basically another Nunge?

Id be fine with that.

We don't need an offensive post player, we need a post defender, rebounder shot blocker and screen setter who can throw it down when set up.

If he wants to shoot a couple 3s that's fine.

If he’s available they should go after him. Even if he plays the same spot as Nunge, Jack has shown to be VERY injury prone.

You don’t think ISU won’t hire a solid BB coach? You think Jaime got stupid over night? Maybe he does transfer...maybe not. First, he needs to get healthy, though.
If you think that, it is you who is the fool here...
Are we talking about the same Jamie Pollard who forced out McCarney in favor of Chizik who hasn't coached in 5 years? Then hired Rhodes? The same guy who hired McDermott and Prohm? He's had 2 good hires, it's a crap shoot at best

If he enters the portal, Fran will pursue him. I can’t imagine he wouldn’t. Even though he’s not really a true 5, you need that other big body in there. I also have some optimism about Josh O for next year. If he loses the weight, he will be a nice guy to have in there as a banger and intimidator down low.

Christ, that's worse than Husker football. Or is it?

it is indeed worse because their basketball team doesn’t have a sellout streak, nor do they release thousands of balloons full of precious helium we should be reserving for medical use only.

I don't know anything about Foster or his plans, but Pollard made it clear in his statement that both staff and player changes were seen as necessary for a restart.

Not to mention Josh O and Xavier F have stayed in contact since their visit together. I'd take Nunge/Olundele/Foster to go along with the Murray's and PMac for our front court... that's some serious length and size.

2-Jack Nunge 7'0" 250lbs. Grad-Senior (Jr eligible) F/C
10-Xavier Foster 7'0" 235lbs. Soph (Fr eligible) F/C
15-Keegan Murray 6'9" 230lbs. Soph F
20-Kris Murray 6'9" 225lbs. Soph F
22-Patrick McCaffrey 6'9" 210lbs. Jr (Soph eligible) F
23-Josh Ogundele 6'10" 270lbs. So (Fr eligible) C
