According to ancient astronaut theorists (yeah, yeah, Ancient Aliens is a guilty pleasure of mine, so sue me) - Satan actually was an extra-terresterial who was attempting to give ancient human beings advanced knowledge and technology. They say this is the source of origin stories like Adam and Eve getting the "fruit of forbidden knowledge" etc. and that it was the ancient church trying to consolidate power that led to the villainization of a benign figure.

Kind of a fun twist on the tale, IMO.

Well he was once the most favored of angles...till he tried to lead a rebellion and was cast down. Of course everything in life is a battle of good vs. evil...only problem now is the progressive nihilists are trying to define what is really good and what is really evil...if anything.I have no doubt...do you?

Genesis reads as the serpent trying to get humanity out from under God's thumb...so there's precedent. I've got a feeling (based on absolutely nothing) that this is one of those anti-hero things....he's ostensibly trying to help mankind but his ulterior motives will slowly be revealed.

Sorry I can't watch Ancient Aliens without laughing. The show goes from one "and if this is true then ..." to another "and if this is true then ..." at a dizzying pace.

That's what makes it so awesome! I watch it like its the X Files or any other science fiction. Not to be taken seriously, but entertaining.

On my Italy trip I entertained myself in all the art galleries looking for AA symbols. Constantine's mothers sarcophagus was covered in things that could be interpreted as either flying dildos or rocket ships.
