"Oh yeah, that’s gonna happen," Fox News' Megyn Kelly, a co-moderator of the first GOP debate said sarcastically while reading out the list of demands on Monday night. "Maybe like a foot massage?"

"Can you imagine having to submit our graphics for approval to the candidates?" an incredulous Kelly asked.

I saw where Chris Christie said to just put some podiums on a stage and let them go at it. I think he may be on to something.

It does seem backwards to attack the media, when the media are the ones reporting your actions, and they're going to slant it so it's understood like they want by the public. This can't end well for the candidates. They should have said their peace and moved on. Their point was good to begin with, but now they just look like the faculty/staff at the university who keep harping on the President's appointment. Both look like petty whiners at this point.

I've been saying all along this is about controlling the message. The candidates want to do nothing but have sound bites and talking points. No questions from other candidates? Talk about a bunch of pussies.
This also indicates how weak the Republican Party is. They have no centralized control.

Megyn is right. No news organization is going to let the candidates dictate those kind of things. On the other hand, there's no reason the candidates shouldn't make their feelings known. It probably will raise consciousness on the issue.

Incidentally, the Democrats are boycotting Fox News Channel......how is that different from the Republicans threatening to boycott NBC? In both cases, it's because of perceived bias.

Mainly because the Ds were strategic enough to side step that issue from the beginning. Wouldn't you want a President who was strategic enough to avoid trouble too? Vote D for smart leadership.

Currently, the GOP only has two guys who can think on
their feet during a televised debate. Rubio and Cruz
have proven this to be true. Everyone else is full of blather
and bombastic outbursts. Rubio will make some headway
against Carson and Trump as the campaign continues.

Well, the next debate is on the Fox Business Channel. I doubt I get that channel, so I'll have to follow it on line. But, at least in the post debate analysis we'll see how well Fox did after they have freely criticized the other networks.

That's just because they are both genetically enhanced KGB clones inserted via Cuba to destroy America. Have you seen either of their original long form birth certificates with the original signatures? That's what i thought.

Sounds plausible....

Don't you know what you're supposed to do? Ever since the channel was launched, when Cavuto mentions it he usually says "Fox Business Channel....if you don't get it, demand it!" and the camera crew chimes in on the last part.

I think they probably were always going to do a good job, and in light of the criticisms of CNBC, I'm absolutely positive they will. We will be hearing a lot about the economy, and not "if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?"

Rubio, yes. Cruz, no. He's getting a lot of attention for his media attack but that was obviously scripted. He filled in a couple of blanks with tidbits from the actually questions that had gone before but he really failed to think on his feet when he ran out of script and, instead of using the remaining 30 seconds to answer the question (a question he should have done well on), he just wandered onto another scripted one-liner attacking the Dems.

That isn't thinking on your feet, that's losing your way.

Actually, their point was baseless to begin with and even though the candidates have looked like petty whiners all along, people protesting the improper, and possibly illegal, nature of the sham of a presidential search at a major academic institution are righteous in their indignation! :p

Pish posh. The questions were there. The candidates didn't want to address them. I thought the most important, yet least discussed performance was Mike Huckabee's. He brought up entitlement reform, and nobody wanted to talk about it. He also mentioned controlling health care costs in America by tackling diseases that are controllable. The crickets chirped.

I gave Huckabee good marks for that debate. You are right, hardly anyone noticed and nobody else agreed. I don't want either Huckabee or Santorum in the White House but Huckabee on this and Santorum on help for workers are saying good things - but things that the GOP is opposed to. Ditto for Graham and Pataki on climate change.

They both do very well on their feet

perception is reality regardless of your or my opinion.

Cruz is a disaster waiting to happen, and until Carson goes down, is not going to show much footage above 5-6%. If the GOP wants to set a new record for the lowest Latino support... eclipsing the 27% of the last election... put Cruz on the ticket and they'll touch 15%.

As a Dem... the only guy that scares me is Rubio. I'm not sure all the skeletons have been researched yet, but he seems quick on his feet and would be a good challenge in a one to one debate against HRC, imo.

What debate did you watch? Good heavens. They discussed entitlement reform -- specifically, Social Security and Medicare -- at relative length late in the proceedings. Several of them made comments that will be taken out of context and used against them (and all Republicans). What, on the other hand, have the Democrats said about SS -- other than that they'll give them more money?

Cruz's idea is incredibily stupid. He had his head up his arse. The GOP candidates just are knee-jerking. But for a "smart man" (as advertised) Cruz looks the part of a fool. He wants a pep rally (he is from Texas). This is a political debate.

While that's acceptable too, that's not really a fix. An is perfectly fine in front of the word homage. It indicates I intend for you not to pronounce it like a hillbilly but with the Oh sound at the front.

The one where the Republican candidates struggled to get out their talking points while avoiding talking about economic issues, which most of them don't understand. Then they started crying themselves red in the face over the meanies at CNBC.

Just consider it a victory when you don't pronounce the "h"

OK, so you didn't watch it. You just read the Cliff's Notes version by the DNC. I was just curious.
