By the way, Fran discusses the new proposed transfer rule, where a player can leave and not have to sit out a year at the new school. Fran does't like it. He thinks there will be a lot of tampering (especially with the stars of mid majors) and what you have is essentially free agency.

He thinks the transfer portal number is now going to be astronomical.

Fran, if you remember, transferred one time when he was a college player.

He thinks that having to sit out a year (where the player does not lose a year of eligibility) is not all bad because the player then has time to move to the new university, get accustomed to the new school, get courses figured out based on what credits transferred, and get acquainted with new teammates and a new system.

I have to agree with Fran in that you are now going to see tampering in a way college basketball has never seen before and once it starts, teams like Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan St., UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, Baylor, and even Kentucky will take advantage of this new rule to fill roster spots vacated by one and done'rs. It's going to be inevitable.
