Yes, Duh, Fran....sit CMAC, ...not like CMAC was doing much. PMAC, Perkins, Ulis, Keegan are all ibetter players anyway.
Fredrick being hurt didn't help, but they still would have gotten blown out by Duck with healthy CJ with the defense they played.

Not sure what you even mean by this? There would have been no place for Nunge in today’s game. None. He’s slightly quicker than Luka on D. He would have made zero difference. JBO had a very good career. Could not guard any one today and if Connor was 100% healthy and CJ as well it would not have mattered. Fran absolutely does not value defense at all. Never has. Does Loyola have better athletes than us? Krutwig can’t jump over a newspaper. They value each defensive possession. We don’t and never have.

Nunge wasn’t saving this team today. He would have been run out of the gym with the rest of them .
2 Luka Garza’s wouldn’t have helped. Problems weren’t at the post or forward spots.
Practicing defense as intensely as we do just tears em up.
and then came CJ's foot injury; and now we know CMac had hip issues; and Weezy of course was dealing with an ankle
this is why i have never been a fan of unbalanced classes; our 13 man roster had 5 true freshmen plus 4 who were dealing w/ injuries during the season

That is what happens when a coach fails to spot develop your bench with significant playing time during the year. I played for a guy like that and it was obviously a bonehead thing to do IMO. FM will likely never get it, also IMO.

Exactly, Ullis and Perkins should have been getting more playing time. Games we won easily and those 2 got limited or no minutes. Especially frustrating now that we know the extent of injuries to the starters.
Injuries definitely got to this team in the end. Having JBo and Cmac being ineffective is one thing, but when Frederick and Weiskamp got hobbled, it was curtains. I don't think you can really get on Fran too hard for this, he wasn't afraid to lean on the bench in this and other games and its always going to be tough going that far into the bench to get great production.
Connor couldn't hit the broad side of a barn even if the invisible man was guarding him. He needs to get well and spend his last year at Iowa swinging the fungo bat. Something I'm told he's good at.
If Connor was a manageable shooter, it would have helped JBO a lot. but that wasn't the case and now we look to next season...
and why would you try and play man to man starting out in the second half? it was obvious in the first 2 minutes of the game we could not stop dribble penetration. so he brings these guys back at the end of the first half and O goes on a 10-0 run, then we come out with the same crew and try and play man again?
CJF couldn't stay with anyone for Oregon on either end of the floor. Don't know how much is foot is still bothering him, but he, Cmac and Jbo were being brutilized by the Duckks....
