Let's take this thread in a different direction...

I don't normally even respond to these types of posts, but I really don't care what Fran or some university has to say about it. I'll form my own opinions. Others are free to form theirs.

If Fran doesn't share your opinion on it... What then? Gonna demand he be canceled?

This board is getting more political than I like all of the sudden. I come here for sports, but, it seems there's no escape from this crap. Pfffft.

That lack of moderation is going to kill this site. The trolls bringing politics to the sports board will be the end.

I thought you wanted moderation? The board is what it is my friend. Sports mixed with politics. Kind of like the real world, huh? You can hang on or jump off.
I gotta jump off. My bad. Edit: The middle fingers were for doing this on a sports board. But I did go too far.

I’m not sure of the original question, what does Fran think about what ? Israel genocide of the Palestinian women and children ? Why is the question?

Fran doesnt condemn the condemnation of Israel genocide of Palestinian children ? What is the question here ?

Some of you might want to pick up a newspaper at some point. Or at the very least, be a little more aware of what is happening outside of your little bubble.

Here, I'll help you out. Below is a link to an article in yesterdays NYT.

Many universities/colleges are struggling with how to react to their students reaction to the "conflict" in Gaza. The response from the president at Penn has now forced her to resign, as well as at least one member of the Board of Trustees.

Since Fran is an alum of Penn, as well as a high profile member of a university community, his perspective might be enlightening.

Penn president resigns

Regardless, his opinion of that situation has no relevance to the Iowa men’s basketball team, or to the university of Iowa athletics in general. Since it is purely a political topic, he should have posted the question in off-topic as has been mentioned above several times.
