OK, not really. But what would you think if they did?

They are a nuclear power, after all. Suppose they dropped a number of small nukes on reported ISIS strongholds and let it be known that more nuke will be used if there are any further attacks in France or against French nationals or companies.

I don't think ISIS cares about nukes. They're a traveling group. You bomb one area and they will sprout up somewhere else. Nukes against actual governments are effective because they can't pack up and move their whole country. But ISIS can do this with ease. Destroy Syria and ISIS will move to Iraq. Destroy Iraq and they'll move to Afghanistan. You can't nuke entire continents trying to destroy a shifting target.

Just keep nuking them wherever you find them. I mean it's the Middle East. We don't really care about collateral damage.

It would be different if there were ISIS groups in major European or American cities. I mean, sure, who would miss Toronto? But other than that, it's better to nuke them in a part of the world we basically hate already.

I see ISIS as an ideology rather than a group of people. I doubt if the biggest threats have even been near Syria. I'm more afraid of the kid sitting at home in Minnesota. He gets radicalized, goes out and kills people and ISIS claims responsibility. They don't have to be sent here.

Salient point on why ISIS is so difficult to defeat. Anybody in any country can be recruited into its ranks. We've already seen Americans become fascinated with the movement and intentionally sought out how to join. Ordinary war efforts won't be effective against this enemy.

I think it could symbolize something. Can you imagine if they killed 30,000 in a couple Days of bombing? And they show the aftermath on TV. Those little homegrowns might rethink their place in this world.

Towns will be much more alert once they realize they could be nuked if they don't stamp out ISIS within their borders.

This is just the Bush Doctrine. Any place that harbors the dirty terrorist is fair game. If there is actually good followthrough, then every village, town, city or nation knows what to expect if they allow ISIS to take root. Facing nuclear obliteration, I bet we'd see a lot of action.

Good grief, no one is nuking anyone. A good ol' fashioned "Sherman's March" through Syria and Iraq would be just as effective.

maybe the first thing ever posted where I agree with you

however we would probably disagree on who funds them and why they are able to be armed and move about freely

I think a well placed nuke on the outskirts of Riyahd might have the desired effect.

Sounds like one of the suspects the French are looking for was born in Brussels so I'd say Belgium might be a good place to soften up with a few nukes.

Some may be there already.

I just wish the same people banging the drums of war would also have a plan to pay for it this time. We can't afford another war on the credit card.

A man and his teenage son were being interviewed. They were in the concert venue. They said one of the terrorists said something in French and he did not have an accent. They said that would indicate to them he was raised locally..

No I wouldn't support that, too many civilians would be killed. If western powers sink to ISIS's level then we have already lost.

To paraphrase Star Wars, striking them down in that fashion would make them more powerful then we can possibly imagine.

It's France business what they do in response, we should have no opinion on the subject just because Obama denies ISIS is a threat or that Islamic Terrorists exist doesn't mean other countries should.
