Franklin FLIPS OUT on his news conference

Maybe I missed it but I didn't really see Franklin flip out. He yelled and rambled on though. Not a fan of the guy but I don't mind his underlying message of going from great to elite

Grade A douchebag, right there. What a damn arrogant prick... referring to himself in the third person.

BTW: So no one is confused, they are a GOOD program. They are not yet a GREAT program.

My bad... I was watching the BTN alive and saw a segment where he was losing control and out of hand .. when I can get the presser I will post.. and yes maybe it’s just me and he could be super intense like a previous poster stated .. I will take the blame here where it’s due

This dude is more than psychotic... he’s an asshole and a jerk and then some... he’s one sandwich short of a picnic

Ferentz would certainly never get that animated during a presser, but I thought Franklin's message was great. I wouldn't want to be a player at PSU practice this week.

I don't think it was that bad. I kind of like the emotion and he's clear that he is taking all the responsibility......I think that's better than the coach to the West whom is throwing his players under the bus.

Franklin is Mr. Row the boat with more talent that acts like a baby when things don't go his way. When he has 8 win or under seasons that shtick will wear on people quick.

Overall, I have no problem with that press conference. It is a little odd at times, but he's passionate and emotional and I personally like that about him.

One yellow flag in that speech he gave is twice he mentioned that there are some players that don't seem to care much about their class work.

Man that Franklin sure hates to get L’s & he shows it.. couldn’t he be a bit more graceful when he gets beat?? I mean just accept losing, don’t let it fuel a fire for you and the whole program so much geez!

The message is right on, a little redundant but he speaks the truth....We all know that when you push oneself through your comfort zone there is a good sense of accomplishment...

Likely a reference to three kids missing class during the week. Some are key in various rotations. By team rule, because they missed class, none of the three played.

I'm glad that I clicked on that vid. The baldy is damn entertaining -- he even confessed to being a psychopath and his intention to exceed his past psycho-ness. Franklin throws out the word "obviously" as freely and expertly as KF does "certainly." But all said and done (and I never expected this), Franklin comes off as a intense but pretty likeable guy.

I agree. And while I appreciate many things about KF, one thing I despise about him is his seeming inability to say positive things and be a bit more of a rah-rah guy. I'm sure if Franklin coached Iowa I'd say the opposite at some stage...

Agree overall but to be clear I still would not trade KF for Franklin. :)

Your sarcasm meter is broken.
No, it's actually the other way around.

My post was wholly facetious and I was well-aware of your serious tone.

Oh and I disagree that Franklin would be a good fit at Iowa, btw. He most certainly would not.

I'm sure you'll disagree with me, but that's your fault. :)

Put a gun to my head and I'd take the gun out of your hands and pull the trigger myself, before I'd see Franklin or someone like Bret Bielema as the head coach at Iowa.

I'll die with my integrity intact. Thank you......................Friends? :D

This is laughable. It’s clear that Franklin, in no way shape or form, believes he’s the problem (that 4th down play was my fault, we’ve called similar plays in the past that have broken for big gains, but this one was my fault... huh?). His reaction to the fan who pointed out that he should have passed the ball on the last fourth down is a true indication of this guy’s character. This press conference was a manipulation, nothing more. I mean, really, did he just figure out on his walk down the tunnel that he needs to work harder? Or was he just trying to preempt the questions that were sure to come?

Amen CU... the dudes a nut job...! Can you imagine KF going off on the crowd or pointing someone out with a big lip shooting his/her trap? I don’t think so
