Free speech

You’re allowed to have free speech so long as it’s not against Trump.

I did a double take when I heard that. Came from JDVance.

Still have to research it, because I’m still wrapping my brain around it.
That's what the Columbia student w/ the Green Card just found out.

If this doesn't get shut down very very soon, it's going to spiral out of control.
Not only will we not have a democracy, our economy will totally spiral into the shitter when companies have no idea what laws to follow or what is ok and what is not.

And threatening G'town Law about their course curriculums.

The old school GOPers in Congress need to take this shit seriously, as it'll get out of hand quickly if they do not stand up to stop it. They can draw the line in the sand on cozying up to Putin and tell Trump he's getting removed if he does it once more.

Write up the AOI tomorrow and approve them; send them to the Senate so the next time he does it, they can just boot him. Tell Vance he's next if he does the same.

"Disappearing" people, when they are legal residents, is absolutely the stuff of totalitarian regimes, not democracies. Congress needs to wake TF up here.

Yep, see Pinochet in Chile. And Videla and others in Argentina.

But, Trump “loves the strongmen”

The problem here is that he has removed people that would oppose him, as in Joint Chiefs if staff. It’s going to be up to the young people to take a stand.

Have you researched what Kissinger said about NATO in Ukraine expansion yet?

You’re not high on my list of priorities today.

Making veal piccata and asparagus was more important

Then I had to have my late night snack of a croissant, raspberry jam and Brie.

Maybe tomorrow.
Sounds yummy. We had asparagus tonight too, it was scrumptious. I tried really hard not to snack tonight, but had some rice crackers and hummus.

Have you?

In an interview at the World Economic Forum, Kissinger endorsed intensified U.S. support for Ukraine to reclaim territories lost since February 24, 2022. He also expressed that, following the conflict, Ukraine's neutrality was no longer feasible, and he supported Ukraine's eventual NATO membership.

Oh is that your assignment for me?

Dude Kissinger is dead.
Dude, you’re the one who brought him up in the Ukraine thread.
Just ignorant about what he said on Ukraine?
You like to present yourself as knowledgeable on this stuff, but seem unaware of things like this.
Otherwise, why even bring him up?

You seriously do not understand global politics. I’d suggest taking a few classes and reading a few books.

Why not start with Henry Kissinger. He was one of the greatest minds when it comes to this.

Your statements also tell me that you do not align with traditional Republicans, like the Cheneys.

I just pointed out that I shared his opinion on the subject. Do you think he was a Russian asset too?

If he is, he's terrible at it given he promoted Ukraine to NATO.

Seminole97 just has it in for me, misinterpreting 75% of what I say.

I’m probably way more knowledgeable about Kissinger than he, because he wasn’t even born when Kissinger was doing his thing.

But some people are just not worth responding to.

BTW if either of you were paying attention, you’d know I’m not a guy.

Duh!

“A gas station run by a mafia that is masquerading as a country.”

On the contrary, I’ve sought clarification at every turn in your distraction and prevarication.

I’m probably way more knowledgeable about Kissinger than he, because he wasn’t even born when Kissinger was doing his thing.

I never said otherwise.
I did ask you, what was Kissinger’s take on NATO expansion?
What he a Russian agent?

But some people are just not worth responding to.

If you post something mistaken, eg the Census isn’t involved in a monthly population survey. I’ll just correct you by linking the site on their webpage hosting it. I’m not trying to dunk on you showing you something you clearly didn’t know before.
Every one of us knows less than what is out there that we don’t know yet. No biggie.

BTW if either of you were paying attention, you’d know I’m not a guy.
Duh!

It’s 2025, when I’m using dude it’s as androgynous as Spicoli’s.
No offense intended, more just, ‘dude you’re blowing my mind’ tone.

Are we still having to argue the fiction that Ukraine admittance to NATO was somehow imminent?

I've had seminole on ignore b/c he has been a Russia advocate, and I couldn't tolerate to converse re: Ukraine.

His Russian advocacy spanned Crimea.

I get that. He has me on ignore because I refute his nonsense repeatedly.

This one is particularly delicious.

How 'imminent' should it become before someone acts to prevent it?
Matt Gaetz arrest style 'imminent', or Cuban Missile Crisis 'imminent' in that the missiles are already there?

On 26 January 2022, NATO and the U.S. issued their formal response to Russia, in which they rejected demands that Ukraine never join NATO

Anyone remember what happened a month later?

How about imminent in that was actually something that was more than a mere possibility?

Not to mention that Russian “demand” came after they’d already seized the crimea from Ukraine several years earlier, so of course Ukraine would have been exploring options to improve its military position…but those remained merely exploratory still when 2022 rolled around. Ukraine admittance to NATO was far from a foregone conclusion and you and others acting like it was proves you’re buying the rationalization that Putin threw out there.
