I was watching video of these two young men this morning. A lot of talk about Estrella and Sandfort's visits this weekend but let's not sale these two young men short. They are the beginning building blocks of a very good class.
Hopefully Sandfort and Estrella will join the fold, that would be the best class the Hawks have brought in for quite a few years.

Still room for Power. 🙂

Big front line with those guys :
TJ power 7’ 0”
JP Estrella 6’ 10”
Owen Freeman 6’ 10”
Pryce Sandfort 6’ 6”
Brock Harding 6’ 0”
Isn't Power 6'8"? He's more of a small forward from what I have been reading, so I'd have it as
Owen Freeman 6’ 10”
JP Estrella 6’ 10”
TJ power 6’ 8”
Pryce Sandfort 6’ 6”
Brock Harding 6’ 0”
In any case, what a lineup!

I've seen quite a few people confuse JT Rock and TJ Power in the past few week; for clarity: TJ Power is a 6'8 3 point shooting specialist in the 2023 class from the Boston area; JT Rock is a 7' big man in the 2024 class from Sioux Falls.

Thank you you’re correct I did make that mistake my apologies

Also thanks for not calling me out as an idiot . There are times that could be appropriate I’m sure but this time I just confused the TJ with the JT. I’ll not repeat this mistake thanks.

Let's not forget Koch in the 24 class and Bowen and Dixon in the 22 class.

Rivals lists TJ at 6'10. They have JP at 6'11. Pryce is 6'7. Brock might be 5'10 (I kid ;) ).

I think Brock is going to be one of the biggest steals of the entire 2023 class. It took Rivals forever to give Keegan & Kris their 3 stars; one of these days Rivals will give Brock his "3 stars."

I have read many state that Owen Freeman should be ranked as a Top 75 recruit in the country.

Rivals has JP as the #53 ranked recruit in the country.

Pryce was a 4 star until the most recent Rivals rankings.

Fran has a lot going for him with TJ Power:
* Fran offered TJ almost 2 years ago (on Aug 27, 2020). The blue bloods have only recently offered.
* TJ officially visited Iowa City the weekend of Oct 8, 2021. He might visit again.
* According to Rivals, Iowa is the first school he visited.
* The Boston Connection: TJ (2023), Dasonte Bowen (2022), Josh Ogundele (2020) & Iowa Assistant Coach Courtney Eldridge (1998) are all part of BABC (Boston Amateur Basketball Club).

All good--so many initials it gets confusing. We could have a lineup that includes JP, JT, and TJ in 2024. Dolph's head might explode.

I can hear Dolph now. Brock to Rock. JT back to TJ. TJ to JP. I think he'd have to go with some last names.

And speaking of last names, I am hoping we sign some of these 2024 kids who Iowa has offered. Good luck with these, Dolph!

Patrick Ngongba
Nate Guerengomba

Isaac Asuma

Feels like we can be a good to great class this year. Some really good players already committed and a few seem really close that seem strongly interested. Hope for the best

Powers will be a hard get. Duke and North Carolina are putting on the full court press. Kansas has also offered.

Blue bloods do not matter as much anymore... NOR does the dirty money under the table(Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona, etc), as it is all on the table now.

It will come down to who he likes more as coaches, if he wants a close nit team, the college atmosphere and educational program(s) he is interested in... Iowa has just had the Nation POY, and the last 3 B1G POY (F johnny davis). Regardless, "IT" can happen at Iowa. It is now proven... Fran can ride Luka and Keegan's accolades for recruiting until he retires. If the player is the right fit.

Love it! Go Hawks!

Never did understand why Paper beats Rock.

Seems to be a pattern, which goes back many years, for recruits likely to become Hawkeyes.
I tracked this until just a few years ago. The two I most remember were Gabe Olesani and that Patrick Ingram kid. Both kids dropped to NR on the day they signed with Iowa. Right about Ingram but obviously ridiculous about Gabe.

The Gabe things was so ridiculous because he had a teammate being heavily recruited by then much better programs than ours so every major scouting service had seen and heard of Gabe if just from watching the other guy. A 7' that blocks shots and dunks like Gabe is obviously going to get noticed.

Hard to bitch about anything but the timing on Ingram. He's another one of the guys in that class that I don't think finished even a four year career.

Someone once asked me if Moline's schedule had come out yet, well now, almost the entire 30 game schedule is out except a few games involved in tournaments and.... to my surprise Moline starts on the road, not in the state of Illinois but in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the 22nd of November against Wisconsin Lutheran High School as part of the Tournament of Champions. Lutheran return a bunch of players that crafted a outstanding record of 25 and 3 a year ago. Should be quite a game and only 3 and a half hours from Moline!
