Who knows really? They may still get in because of the late wins over some top programs before the Indiana disaster..

"Fourth Team Out: Iowa Hawkeyes (18-14, RPI: 72, KP: 66, SOS: 46)

Despite getting obliterated by Indiana in the second round of the Big Ten tournament, I'm hesitant to remove Iowa from the conversation. Those road wins over Maryland and Wisconsin from a couple of weeks ago still happened, as did the home wins over Iowa State, Purdue and Michigan. That's five RPI Top 50 wins with no losses outside the RPI Top 150

The Hawkeyes have a pretty bad RPI, but so does Syracuse. And at least a couple of Iowa's best wins came away from home"

8 of the 10 people on this committee were on last years committee, and they didn’t seem to give a lot of credence to the conference tournaments last year.

This was a quote from one of the top 5 bracketologists podcasts I heard, though he may have been referring more to how the seeding ended up.

Also, if Iowa State beats West Virginia, that's potentially 2 wins vs the top 25 rpi (Maryland slipped to 27ish), one of those out of conference.

Certainly the 14 loses won't prevent Iowa from consideration. And this is the same core of committee members that pushed in Tulsa.

But yea, NIT is ok for this young group.
