A column written by a regular columnist and retired Circuit Court judge. He also appears in the Dispatch/Argus on the Illinois QC side. I leave it without comment.

That piece of drivel makes the writings in "Imprimis" look like they should be published in the "Dissident Voice." Paranoid doesn't even begin to describe the author's mental state.

Good grief.

GOP “traditional capitalism” — is that like the President picking winners and losers? Targeting American businesses? Banning apps because of ... the free market? Threatening an American company because people post mean stuff about the President on it? That traditional capitalism?

You know who else reads books about submarines? This retired judge.

Remember when the "moderate" Republicans said that if the Democrats would nominate a moderate, they'd vote for him? I said that it didn't matter, whoever the Democrats nominate will be called a socialist/Marxist/communist, and that will excuse their vote for a sociopathic grifter. Here we are.
You were spot on. That's EXACTLY what they are doing. it's easy to predict their message because it works on their simpletons.

At the current time the Quad City Times is understaffed
and a shadow of its former self. This is the reason for
an article on the editorial page by a retired judge. This
newspaper is dying a slow death with that type of op-ed.
I had been reading the delivered paper for as long as I can remember. Finally cancelled in June.

The truly scary thing is that this judge apparently is so ignorant of world history and politics that he doesn’t know Marxists and fascists are sworn enemies. That was the basis of the Spanish Civil War, the USSR sacrificing tens of millions of its citizens to defeat Nazism and one of the defining geopolitical conflicts of the entire 20tu century.

There is no such things as a “Marxist-fascist” - a term this dolt pins his entire argument around. He is either a fool or a liar, probably both.

LOL at all the triggered communists in this thread.
It was just a very poorly written op-ed full of biases, unsubstantiated claims, and tired stereotypes. Not worthy of publication in a newspaper of any credibility.

To contrast the twaddle from ret. Judge O'Shea, while I may disagree with most of the conclusions from the articles posted by @William Bonney, they are generally well-written and at least provide more than adequate sources for the claims presented.

Old men become more fearful as the grave approaches. This dried turd appears to have both feet in it.

What do you expect from a wealthy old white prune like him anyway?

I hope he was a better magistrate than he is as a writer.

Ageism and racism on display by the tolerant left.
