Frost to Tenn?

Who in their right mind wouldn’t choose Tenn over Neb??

Tennessee has been a dumpster fire for 10 years now. Nothing better about that job compared to Nebraska especially to someone like Scott Frost.

Have fun playing Bama, Florida, and Georgia every year.

Won’t play Ala every year, Fla sucks, & Ga overrated.

Better recruiting territory in and around tn vs ne

Why is everyone so interested in Scott Frost? Why is everyone trying to drive him to Tenn. or Florida. Fearful of him taking the Nebraska Job?

He is going to take a job where he can recruit the talent he needs to win and still be home.most nights. He has said as much. Nebraska has the name of those other schools but isn't the right fit for frost and he has already said as much.

Home state, around family, good vibes about Nebraska football, is wanted, all strong pulls for someone like Scott Frost. Don't believe anything you read or hear until the season is over. But again there seems to be a lot of talk on this board about Scott Frost's comings and goings.

He left that "home state" once and has been able to view the Nebraska program from the outside in. Lol at "good vibes" I would beg you to offer anything showing "good vibes". If it were not for a drunk recruiter you guys would be the definition of a dumpster fire and he would have to be shown the door with the new staff. Your d.c. tried to pull off the "mad scientist" thing but when it was exposed without ND talent he was found to just be "mad." He is going to be wanted by everyone and when you have the money he has you don't have to deal with the riffraft of Florida/tenn that Nebraska fans often point out

Tennessee, Florida and Nebraska aren't the jobs people think they are. If they were conducive to winning big before you even talk about who coaches the teams, they'd be keeping the current coaches they already have or had.

This is why I'm not sold on Frost leaving UCF for any of these three jobs at this point. There might be better overall situations that present themselves down the road.

I doubt we see movement on these until the regular season ends for each. Frost may very well take one of them...but right now I wouldn't bet the ranch on it happening. "On the surface", I'd have to believe Florida would be the best pick of them all given the fertile recruiting grounds outside their door, but there's also a reason why it's been a grease fire job since Urbs left.

Agree! Frost won't take

Agree! Frost won't take a hard look at either Ten. or Florida. (If Florida's record is considered a grease fire since Urbs left what does that make Iowa) Even though Nebraska will probably beat Iowa, Riley won't keep his football coaching job. I believe Scott Frost will be offered the job. But hey that shouldn't be that much of a story to start a thread on the Iowa board.

Doesn't Tennessee have pretty amazing facilities. It is at least a equal job to Nebraska

Not to mention it's surrounded by a lot more talent. Recruiting to Nebraska was tough enough when they were good. Now it's gonna be tough

UT much better destination than lincoln

And Nebraska hasn't been one with your delusional leadership and fan base?

Yeah, that's a coaches dream job if you aren't winning every game or going 11-1 and playing for national championships, FIRE HIM!

You guys need to find someone that is successful and has a great year every third or fourth year to build some stability for the program and fan base. Replacing coaches every third or fourth year doesn't do anything but make the job that much more difficult.

Um Clark, I just googled dumpster fire for last 10 years and it directed me to Nebraska football. Sorry dude.

UNL is a powerhouse. Who wouldn't want that job. Callahan, Pelini, and Riley were all first choices?? Welcome to the Big 10 and for caring so much you post on the Iowa board. Good luck at PSU.

I think we might be over doing it with the "Florida job is crap" stuff, that is traditionally a great gig, and I have to believe their was a snow ball effect with 9 players getting felonies, losing, fired. Before that he played in the sec champ game. Tennessee is ALOT like Nebraska from what I can tell and unrealistic NC.

Ok I have this from a very reliable source. Scott Frost is not going anywhere.

1) He is earning $2,000,000 a year currently and UCF has put together a retention package that will more than double that salary.
2) Scott Frost belongs to one of the fastest growing schools in the country in a major media market and once they get put into a conference they will continue to grow. They will be right there with Florida, Florida State, Miami.
3) UCF has a brand new stadium and modern facilities that rank among the best and still growing and Frost has already established strong recruiting connections in the south.

And UCF is the biggest school most people know nothing about. 63,000+ student body.

Ya everybody here is hoping if they spread rumors on a message board that Frost will actually take the Tennessee job. It's the only hope we got that he don't come to Nebraska and it's just B1G title after B1G title, just like it was with Pelini and Riley. Nebraska/Frost combination is our worst nightmare. LOL.

From my point of view, I just remember him spending a whole week last year talking about how much tougher his team was then Michigan and how they out fought Michigan. They lost 51-14 but man was he sure his team was awesome in the process. So I don't care if he comes here or not but I think what we all find pleasure in is the melt down that would ensue on within your fan base if he shuns your beloved school. That's what we want to see. The misery. It has nothing to do with fear of Scott Frost. He may get you over that hump of beating Minnesota though.

Damn, it's gotta be good right now being his agent. Keep the rumors going to drive up the salary... whether he stays OR goes.

You, and your reliable source, don't know what you are talking about.
1) UCF does not have the ability to pay their head football coach 4 million dollars. Scott Frost’s base salary is 1.7 million dollars, and with incentives, could earn up to 2.1 million. UCF is currently fundraising to increase the salaries for Frost and his assistant coaches, but they cannot afford to compete with Florida, Tennessee or Nebraska.
2) UCF has a student population of about 60,000, but at least half of those students are “non-traditional”. UCF is known as a commuter school. There is not a strong student base of support for football. Please google articles about the lack of fan support for UCF football. Their AD, Daniel White, has literally begged the students to support the football team. The stadium, Spectrum Stadium, has a capacity of 44,206 and the last sellout was in 2014. Last Saturday the stadium was only half-full despite the team being undefeated and ranked #18. UCF already is a member of a football conference, American Athletic Conference.
3) UCF has recently upgraded their facilities, but they are not among the best in the country. There is no comparison between the athletic facilities at Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska and UCF. No comparison at all.
Frost has established strong recruiting connections in the south, and those strong connections will follow him wherever he chooses to continue his coaching career.

The discussion is about Scott Frost, not just Nebby, yet here you are, a Nebby fan on a Hawkeye board. Interesting....

Scott Frost will go somewhere after this year, maybe not Nebraska, but P5 somewhere. He is likely to run the table this year at UCF and win his league, there really is nothing left to accomplish at UCF for him....the Knights will never (most likely) be a playoff team.....an undefeated regular season and a New Year's Day Six Bowl Game are the ceiling.

Thx for the info. I didn’t know that they did that in the SEC. Is Pur-Ind a protected crossover in the B1G? Is that the only one in the B1G?

Yes IU/PU is protected. It kind of works out nicely that way since with 7 teams in each division someone either has to play a crossover or get a bye each week, which obviously you don't want a team to get screwed with a bye in the last week if possible.

The SEC protected rivalries other than Bama/Tennessee and Auburn/Georgia are all kind of awkward in that Iowa/Purdue sense.

Tennessee is a very beautiful state. Lived there for a year and really enjoyed it. The mountains in the fall are beautiful and the fans are rabid but nice.

Frost is a Nebraska boy so he may go there but comparing the two states is a landslide win for Tennessee. Sorry Nebraska, I may have just not seen the hidden beauty of your state.

If I were the Big Twelve I'd invite UCF today. Huge university with untapped potential. Enrollment is pretty high as well. New stadium with boosters ready to invest.

That said if its Nebraska or UCF straight up today he is gone.

If he wants to stay I would say there is a whole lot more he could accomplish there though.

If the goal is to get to the college football playoff, which that is the goal, The Big Ten west might be the quickest way to do it. They haven’t punched through yet, but Iowa was a yard from going in 15 and Wisconsin is taking advantage this year.

Thanks, I was looking for information on Scott Frost and google directed me to the Iowa message board. But I'll double check next time.

I've been hearing rumors of frost being offered 12.8 million a year to come to Lincoln which is like making 20 million in north liberty.

The best thing about coming here to Lincoln is that these fans know how to win. They saw it in 1994-97 and are fluent in the language of victory so when they see a coach straying off the reservation of victory they become exceptionally passionate.

Learn from the fans, cash your m0nster checks, win.
